When I was younger we had a family dog who could have reacted in two languages. We spoke French at home. In order to avoid too much reaction, when it was time to talk about walks and car rides, we decided to switch to English. That dog eventually learned those words in English too. We were then contemplating either Spanish or sign language. We even started to spell out those key words and she learned to recognize the spelling in both languages. Very smart dog. Still miss her.
