Also very clumpy at times lol 😂😂 Had a huge European Great Dane who was trained to be a guard... Lived 10 years had a husky from 6months to a year was untrainable and agressive. Gave him to my uncle with a large backyard. Now my husband and I own a huge backyard and our bullypit gets her energy out and mild strength training we'll do more at a year and a half. We also socialize our 4month old.. Yet she is also instincually a very good guard dog ....

Rescued a female APT at 6 months old as well, she was a stray so she was quiet used to doing everything on her own. Sweet sweet dog, loving, empathetic, loyal & most importantly gentle with my daughter. Like you said they’re in their teenage rebellion phase, very smart and understand what there owners are asking for but like testing there limits. Potty training started day 1 & she’s improved drastically but getting her to the backyard at first seemed impossible because as a stray she could go wherever and was scared of stairs her first week. My American Bulldog/Presa Canario is 9 years old and adores my APT, constantly licking her & even sharing her bed with her. But since my American Bulldog/Presa Canario is old she’s over play time & will let my APT know there’s no room for it even if I am just playing with my APT she will run inbetween us and stand still until we stop, not sure if it’s cause my APT growls in tug of war and she takes that to be a threat or what but both my APT & American Bulldog/Presa Canario are wonderful, affectionate, loyal, loving, & protecting companions I wouldn’t trade for the world.

@theperfectfighter91932 жыл бұрын
@@thebullybreeddog9860 I can help you with that. The Apbt was a cross between the Old english bulldog and the tan terrier both dogs are extinct. The purpose was to make an athletic strong dog with a lot of will power and loyalty. They first participated in bearbaiting and bullbaiting but when such things were banned it was used in underground dog fighting and they still are. The pitbull was forged in that business different people would breed their dogs to their own standards but mainly for one feature that it is the gameness(a game dog will fight anything without fear and even heavily loosing the fight will not give up till it's a corpse). From different breeders came different bloodlines all with different mainly physical characteristics ex Zebo,Hollingsworth,Redboy Jocko,Colby etc. The pitbull is a medium to large dog it varies in size, nose it's black or red(blue dogs aren't pits) around 20cm of hight to the shoulder and 20 to 60 pounds even dough there has been dogs who reached 75 pounds. Very loyal dog typicaly not human biters but very animal agressive especially dog agressive. Strongest dog for it's size and the ultimate fighting and boar hunting dog. They are very energetic and trainable but also very driven. It is possible to train them in protection work but it is also dangerous because of their mentality. They're also very mouthy not all but some can't be kept inside cuz they will bite and destroy everything. Important to know that dog behavior is mostly based of genetics but training is also important.

Am Staffs have their foundation studbook from 37 Colby dogs. Different breeds? No. Bull and terrier are Bull terriers, not APBT. APBT are directly descended from Bullenbessiers. Old portraits prove this. Not to mention there are some lines which predate bulldogs. They were and are catch dogs, that was their job to manage unruly large livestock.

Sadly the shelters are usually filled with these amazing dogs. Whether they are purebred APBT or mixes these lovable dogs are often times bought by irresponsible owners who don't care about the dogs. They are idiots who obviously are not capable of handling the responsibility of caring for dog. From my experience with these dogs they need attention, exercise and a good consistent routine each day. If you cannot put a lot of time and effort into this breed or ANY dog you bring home, then Don't get one.

The Staffordshire versus the American Pitbull terrier are different breeds all together. The Staffordshire is across between the extinct white terrier and an Old English bulldog. A Staffordshire is a cross between an Old English bulldog and a different terrier breed. Totally different dog and also they did not originate in Finland they originated down south they were originally bred to fight in the pits with other dogs.. The American dog breeders association true American Pitbull terrier doesn't have any mastiff in it at all. An American Pitbull terrier is a longer body it's taller. The Staffordshire terrier is shorter and it doesn't have a long body either. Also the game drive isn't there..

@@rawjan39 do you know how rare it is to actually find an American Pitbull Terrier. It's extremely rare to find one. You're basically calling them lesser dogs even though if they really wanted to they could basically turn you into a flatline

@@user-xq4py3fq2y Let me explain. I was member of the ADBA Club . The ADBA Club became the second register for the APBT in 1909 . The reason the ADBA was formed because the UKC wanted to go into a different direction with the dogs but the old timers wanted to keep the dogs in the box (pit) . That’s why the ADBA was formed . Now. If you go to the ADBA Classifieds section . You will see some APBT for sell . If you want to check out some channels who owns the APBT . You can go to KZbin channel such as : Chico @ the real pit bull, Starting From Scratch , Southern Triple J (he hog hunts with his APBT) , Thompson Kennel .

What really bothers me is the idea that they're aggressive naturally. My moms dog is so excited to meet new people he pees, he genuinely gets the zoomies when meeting new people, and lays down to let them pet him. It's 100% the fault of the owner if a pitbull is aggressive.
@craigdinney5933 Жыл бұрын
Real gamebred pitbulls are naturally aggressive towards other dogs and animals. But great with people.
@notleviathan855 Жыл бұрын
@@craigdinney5933 I'm sorry, but that can't be further from the truth. I've grown up around real boar hunting pitbulls, and around any dog/cat/mouse they're just fine and either ignore it completely or want to play with it. Put their hunting harness on, and anything out in that forest is fair game especially boar. I know for a fact, if I took puppies from a hunting litter, and put them in the suburbs with other dogs they'd do just fine. Dogs show signs of aggression at a young age, if you don't proactively stomp that out, and in turn they grow up to think it's okay to act violent it's 100% on the owner. I've met small chihuahua's that are more aggressive than a pitbull.

I agree. They are NOT naturally aggressive and it is 100% the fault of the owner if a pitbull is aggressive. Well said.
@dannyllerenatv8635 Жыл бұрын
Those cases aren't truly about an aggressive dog either, it's just poor backyard breeding and unfortunate circumstances such as dog fighting and overall a lot of unprepared owners who are nonchalant rather than proactive. They're amazing dogs, but like any Molosseur breed and several terrier breeds, they are NOT for first-time owners or for owners who think they do not need to train their dogs. If people manage to train Tibetan Mastiffs and Caucasian shepherds, both of which are SIGNIFICANTLY more intense than a pitt to be friendly and sociable, then there is no reason why a pitt can't be that way either with proper socialization.
