Bought a stud welder about 2 years ago to repair the top rail of the bed of my truck where a smoker fell over on it and dented it. That was a great tool for the job, and I would recommend it as a cheap tool for anyone wanting to DIY some bodywork. Pretty foolproof too!

Tips To pour from a large paint can put a few strips of wide masking tape across the opening to for a V to use as a spout. You can also pinch a bit into a spout shape and stick it to the side where you will pour from to keep it from running down the side. This works for smaller cans too. Use three containers to mix the paint and a scale for accuracy. Pour some part A into one container and B into a second container. Sit the third on a scale and add A and B to that. If you think that you will need more than one gun of paint having the aa and B already waiting to mix will save time and reduce the risk of contamination to the main can and spillages. When grinding panels Remember they get hot and will buckle so don’t go overboard. Dirt floors. I believe there are a few methods of sealing them . One involves mixing in linseed oil another involves racking in a bag of cement and some sand tamping it down then misting some water over it to cause the cement to cure. You can also use lime but you need twice as much. Rivnuts There are three or more types Alloy, zinc coated steel and stainless steel . Use steel or stainless steel ones on steel and alloy or stainless on alloy. On steel put some thread locker or CA glue on them before inserting in the hole. This helps keep them from spinning and helps prevent corrosion.

Hi Waldo, I know you’re a lot like me a perfectionist, and you always strive for excellence in all that you do. Having said that I also know you’re new to body work and paint, please study a few videos on how to set up your paint gun so that it sprays a nice even fan pattern if you haven’t already. Practice with some thinner in the gun against some cardboard or something until you get the hang of spraying long even strokes about 6 inches away from what you’re trying to paint. Good luck I can’t wait to see how the truck turns out.

A few tips: I would dip out of the primer can, and punch holes around the rim to allow the excess to drain back in when pouring over the side. Pouring the catalyst works better when the outlet is on top so the air can flow in smoothly.

Brings back fond memories 1970s .was a high school kid working in my uncles Auto Body Shop for three. Learned auto body work, paint , sand , bondo. Best was to drive a stick shift. Stayed out of trouble and uncle had a attached truck repair business. Taught me to stay away from druggie disrespectful dudes. saved enough to buy my first car. 1974 Red dodge Dart , got it from other uncle who traded his car in 3very two years. Dodge had white stripe and white vinyl top. Only a six so no hot riding. Starski and Hutch car. He always #colded me for not wearing a mask and eye ear protection. Other techs would come out of spray paint booth blowing THEIR nose and see all the paint color IN their SNOT. MY UNCLE GOT LUNG CANCER NEVER SMOKED COUSIN SAID HER DAD NEVER SMOKED GOT THE C FROM THE LAQUER PAIN AND CHEMS . SJE ALSO SAID I Was the only family member who NEVER GOT FIRED. He’s still alive but got divorced from my aunt . Funny how people @ct @round divo4ced couples.

Hey Waldo. Man it’s coming out amazing. Yes it’s a work truck but it’s going to ROCK!! You cracked me up in the beginning with “fabricobble” 🤣🤣. I may have to borrow that. If I can make a small suggestion, get filters to filter any paints going into the paint gun. It’s very easy to get a piece of dirt in the nozzle and wreck a paint job. This will usually happen towards the end of your painting in a highly visible spot!! As always I can’t wait to see the next installment.

My dad has a old 2000 dodge ram 3500 if like to have as a start to a project. It was my grandpas truck before. A bunch of Norwegians bought in new in 2000 with all the options in the book. Leather seats,wood trim,ect. But it's not in good shape. It has a damaged frame. And it needs some body panels replaced. I can buy a new or used frame and the body panels are literally everywhere for them. I guess what could go wrong lol. There's actually a news report with the truck in it from 2006. And I have a video on the truck when we got it

@WaldosWorld

That's a tough question because it depends on what flywheel housing the 4BT has. I'd imagine that many of them have a SAE 2 or SAE 3 flywheel housing for which it would be fairly easy to find a matching transmission.
