This week I went through it all with my running injury! I want to be out there running again so much but it’s not looking likely at the moment. My week also ends in a bit of a house disaster…

He’s barely trained for it but I’m sure he will absolutely smash it, he is very annoying like that!! 😂 Ah thank you Scott, that’s really reassuring for me! I have been so worried about not being able to make running content but you’re right this is what can happen 🫶🏻

Definitely time to go to the doctor. Plantar Fascitis generally gets better and hurts worse in the morning. Take care of yourself and prayers for a speedy recovery and hope all works out with your house soon!!!

I had terrible plantar fasciitis a few years ago, the pain was constant. I ended up getting a cortisone shot in my foot from an podiatrist and it was like magic. The pain was gone within days and has never come back more than a mild pain.

Hang on there Lucy it's incredibly frustrating to not run, I'm on week 2 of being injured with runners knee and it's made me pretty sad 😢. Been doing swimming and bike riding to keep active. I keep reminding myself it's temporary. Keep doing your stretches x

Oh no, I hope you are ok! It’s such a mental pain isn’t it but you’re right it is temporary! Even though it doesn’t feel like it, it is! 🫶🏻🙌🏼🏃🏻‍♀️

You're an absolute inspiration. As a guy that used to run but has a terrible lower back I would suggest you get fitted for a bike and start riding. Very low impact. Hang in there!!

Hi Lucy. I know your frustration with not being able to run. I'm currently dealing with sciatica, so painful. I feel like a really old woman, hobbling around at the moment. Hopefully we'll both be back on track and back to it soon. Xx

Oh no! I’m so sorry you’re going through that. I have had family members suffer with this in the past and I’ve seen how painful it is 😔 Let’s keep our fingers crossed we’re back to it soon! 🤞

Dear Lucy, I am sorry this takes longer than expected and being in pain (I know how it feels - really!)plus the issues with the house. .But I wanted to say that I am very thankful that you still keep posting. Somehow you you got to be a part of my routine and sometimes I just need a little "extra boost" for the treadmill - and then your videos are kind of a reward or a treat for me. So, I hope that you get better soon, and dont forget - sometimes, after a break, the curve goes up much faster then before and we dont actually loose that much time in terms of progress. At least thats how I feel. And Matt surely is out of this world :-)

just a little PS: Are you not allowed to stretch when feeling the pain? If so - dont bother with this comment; if not: For me, in total different circumstances, some stretching and mobility excercises actually help a lot with pain (also it can cause more pain for a very short time). But, my pain has a total different cause AND I am a different person, so, just wanted to put it out there.

That is such a lovely thing to be told! I can’t thank you enough. It’s so awesome that my videos have found such amazing people, I feel so blessed 🥹 That is also such great way to think about it, I’ve been worried about my progress but you’re right! The curve will go much faster then I think it will 🙌🏼 I’ve now seen a physio and she has given me specific stretches and exercises which is making feel much calmer about doing them 😅 Fingers crossed it all works soon! 🫶🏻

Love your vlogs, Lucy! Really enjoy your content - whatever you post. Thinking of you and your injury and wishing you a speedy recovery. I have an ongoing achilles and ankle issue so I literally feel your pain haha. Bodies are crazy but we're lucky to have them, even when they're a bit bung.

If she didn't say, I'd offer to find out from your sports medicine person the following: 1. What she thinks of the compression thing (I think it looks insane amazing! I think I'm going to try and get one for my oldest for Christmas). 2. If heat or cold is best and how often in a day/also for how long, for your specific injury. 3. When you do end up having a full day of zero pain, how many more days of no pain following should you give it before running on it, again. Matt is doing WHAT?!! If he is alright with it, take shots of all his finishes and stack them up to include a screen shot of or something for us, or, if he really wouldn't mind (or you mind), film some of each and make a montage of those? What a thing to attempt! I hope he is wildly successful but even more so extremely safe! Looking forward to the shoe unboxing! You are NOT "slowing becoming a non-runner" or whatever it is exactly that you said. I JUST got my own Garmin (my oldest traded his not-used Apple watch for it and gave it to me!🥰) and I've been running for at least a year and a half, and have been working on my body and health for at least 3 years. So, real runners can not have a watch on. 😘 Take care with the alternate accommodations, what a trip! This too shall pass. ❤

Compression socks would be good to wear while doing your activities, then do some recovery activities.

I’m glad that things are starting to improve Lucy! I hope that you’ll be back to running in the next few weeks! ❤ I have started having plantar facitis niggles and I’m so scared that it’s going to get worse so I’ve ordered some insoles and compression socks. I will try doing exercises too. Would you be able to do a video on your plantar facitis one day? I’d love to know all your tips! I worked out that running on the left side of the road on the edge of the camber has contributed to my PF! 😮 x

Thank you 🫶🏻 Oh no! I hope you’re ok, it’s horrible to be in pain like that! I have recently found out it is an Achilles injury and not PF and I’ve seen a physio about it now. I’m hoping to be back running soon 😫 I hope your pain goes away quickly. I’ve had some great advice from others in previous videos (in the comments) for PF. Have a look and see if any of them work for you ❤️

It is so frustrating when our bodies can’t do what they normally can. I had severe nerve pain before and it can be from your back but popping up anywhere along your legs or feet. Although I’m not a professional, it wouldn’t hurt to stretch your back just to see if it helps? All the best! Thanks for entertaining me with your videos while I work.

I just bought similar compression boots that go all the way up the legs for a different medical issue, and I love them. They look identical to yours but it's a different brand. They're great! Given the location of your pain now, if things are persisting, I wonder if you should ask a doctor to rule out tarsal tunnel syndrome. It has similar symptoms of plantar fasciitis and can be misdiagnosed since they're so similar, but it has a different cause and different treatment. I hope you get relief soon!

I have been loving using them 😅 I have been worried about that and I gave the GP a call today. I’ve got an appointment with them for next week so I guess I’ll see how I am by then but at the rate I’m sure I’ll be the same 😂

Sorry you're still hurting so much! Did your physio give you exercises to do? 9 times out of 10 we get injured because of a weakness in our kinetic chain somewhere. Hope you can connect with a physio soon to get some strength exercises, too. Good luck! Injuries suck!

She told me to keep stretching my calves and showed me how to adjust one of the stretches to help with the lower part of the calves. I have showed this in my next weekly 😀 I have an appointment with a GP next week so hopefully I’ll get some more progress soon! 🤞 Thank you ❤️
