Doing Greater Works Than Christ (John

I was always a little discouraged when I read John 14:12- I have never healed a leper or given sight to the blind. Now I realize the great deeds our lord was speaking of had to do with glorifying him to others. Jesus did not intend for us all to do the miracles that he did- he intended us to make his name holy to all who would hear the gospel and believe.

This is my favorite verse, and most powerful. Yes we are intended to do the same as Jesus, that was the point of his teachings, and is consistent in the bible, like: Mark 16-17,18, Luke 10:9; When someone has a physical pain just lay hands and pray: "In the name of Jesus , pain I command you to go!!!" That first healing will be an act of faith that will open doors for you...

Greater means more works because there is more of us than Him. He’s multiplying His ministry as an extension or branch in the Vine. Believers cannot do a work beyond what Jesus did. Greater means more or abundance. He’s talking about His body ministry.

Is it greater works because of the broken sin-filled vessel the Spirit starts His work in? In comparison to the perfect vessel of Jesus Christ who knew no sin? How much greater is it that the Holy Spirit can not only create a new creature in Christ starting from something dead, wretched and detestable, and hold/keep them there while they daily have to walk with this sinfull flesh, in the world and withstand the devil and his fiery arrows...and all the while speaking life, His truth, into our spouses, children, neighbors?...that is miraculous beyond my understanding. This teaching gives me much to consider.

I am struggling with this knowledge right now, myself. This is exactly what I am struggling with, wondering, do I even have saving faith? If I am not manifesting greater things than what Christ did, or at least as much, I mean, I haven't casted out any demons that I am aware of anyway, or later my hands upon anyone in Christ's name and healed them, nor do I even know of anyone ever, other than Christ, feeding many from just a morsel of food. So, what DOES this mean?

It means you should do the same as any apostols did: share Gospel , even simple things, lay hands on sick, or in pain and pray as Paul, Peter, John did: "In the name of Jesus, pain I command healing and all pain go now!" , act on faith and you will grow in more faith, more works.

I have assurance of my salvation because I know The Spirit changed my heart and now I hate sin, it repulses me. So, is it perhaps, that we are able to have faith in what Christ did for us, while NOT having faith in that which He is able to do THROUGH us, because "us" is getting in the way, believing it would be something we did rather than believing CHRIST is actually among us still, in SPIRIT, and that which we do, to Glorify God, we do Through the Spirit of Christ. I know this sounds redundant, but perhaps this statement is repeated, without knowing the real implications of it, and should be always, spoken slowly, just as you're doing, we should do, explaining EXACTLY what it means.

Why do I have to be better than Jesus you mean God wants me to be nailed to the cross for 100 years? That's just not even close to being just.

U don't have to. Jesus is enough.

You only have to repent your sins, as everyone else, as lying, gambling, lust are devils works and are meant to destroy, to bring you broke, make enemies, bring hate instead of peace, separate from family... But, once a person turn life towards Jesus, all arround that person is being blessed also, as you do more for others than for you. That is a good start, and while your life changes you share what you experience, change others, it's quite simple...

Too bad this preacher sees it fit to fluctuate his speech volume. Speaking plainly would do just fine, no need for the dramatic delivery every other minute.
