Oh fuck, I think that Mirage was me. If it was, you're 100% correct, I was in the kneeboard cause I forgot how to relight. To answer your questions about why I was doing what. It's pretty simple, I'm terrible and that was my first day with a new stick. It feels much different than my old one and I pulled way too hard.

@@RoamingAdhocrat I’m working on my Mirage proficiency at the moment, video going up later on it - though since then I’ve discovered there’s a control that locks the leading edge slats which I want to bind to my HOTAS and see if it helps with dogfighting so will probably be taking another look at it relatively soon.

My strategy, which was not employed here, is to stay at high altitude and dive on A4s and A10s. If someone turns hot I usually run away. Bullet I'm looking forward to your perspective, it would be nice to feel comfortable staying to fight.

I tend to avoid it mostly because despite being FC3 it has an agonisingly long start up time and it's rare I manage a sortie that isn't interrupted by fighters, tend to just bring it out situationally when we have air superiority or I'm in a group so we can set each other up to clear tails

If you fire a Maverick from very far away, near its maximum range, and then keep flying towards your target and fire another Mav at another target, it is possible for the first maverick you fired to be overtaken by the second one, thus destroying the target you fired at second before the first one. Just my thoughts, could have been what happened. Generally this happens to me in the Viper, as it moves a lot more than the Warthog, but you know how it is...

Yeah that was my first thought, but more often than not the distance the jet travels between launches cancels out the additional time of the earlier ones, so they often all hit more or less simultaneously. Either way, that one for the Strela never actually landed so I’ve no idea what happened to it.

Yeah I think they carry 4 for immediate use and then have a fairly lengthy reload, no idea how many reloads though.
