Doing the Diesel Timing on my Mazda Bongo, Back on the WVO!

After replacing my Diesel Pump because it got clogged with Waste Veg Oil I'm checking the Diesel Timing. The van is running fine as it is but its good to check it, its something I haven't done before so fingers crossed its easy.

To stop the ramps sliding get a strip of carpet about 3ft long feed it round the bottom tread of the ramp and stretch it away from the ramp so as when you drive of the ramp the weight of the car on the carpet hold the ramp in place.

Hi fella I have my vw crafter running perfectly now the fuel filter is to be changed once a month that I get for £5 online and buy 6 in one go ! That is all I need to do to keep it running smoothly. Wvo is the future for sure

Can the fuel pump gauze filter be removed without taking the fuel pump off i.e. can it be done in situ

Are you going back to the WMO at all? I've been running a common rail Transit on it for a while and people still refuse to believe me it runs on it...

The WVO I had appeared to have a lot of glycerides in it (from what I've researched) and it polymerises under pressure which is why my pumps keep clogging so quick, so I'm giving up on it for now as I don't have a good source for more anyway. I've always thought common rails would suffer, what are you running?

@@StevesMachines so, W*M*O as in black diesel? I'm running settled filtered WMO (which contains ATF, hydraulic fluid and god knows what else) cut with 10% unleaded. I religiously run one tank of diesel to one tank of WMO though. So far so good, no issues. The critical thing to be on top of is a drop test for every batch to keep the viscosity in check. This is where everyone falls down with common rail stuff

@@StevesMachines I always said I'd never run WVO as the amount of crap in it, and the cleaning it requires to run it without drama is just not worth it. New straight veg is now as expensive as diesel because Russia needs breathing space so I bought two garage oil drainers and made an agreement with a local garage that as long as they kept water out of them I'd swap a full one for an empty one. For an afternoons tinkering in the shed, it's worth the effort...
