BUY TICKETS TO MY SHOW: parlourofdeceptions.com ONLINE COURSE ON CARD MAGIC: cardmagic101.com PRIVATE EVENTS AND LESSONS: danielroymagic.com/booking SIGN UP FOR MY NEWSLETTER: danielroymagic.com/newsletter CREDITS: - Huge thanks to people in the comments for suggesting these great video ideas! - The transformation of a deck of bee cards into a deck of Pokemon cards makes use of ideas and techniques from Johann Nepomuk Hofzinser and George Pughe. - The disappearance and reappearance of Pikachu inside the Pokéball makes use of methods from Tenkai and Juan Pablo Ibañez. While I’m using a different method, the overall structure comes from Tommy Wonder’s “The Card in the Ringbox” from Volume 1 of The Books of Wonder. My handling was inspired by the work of Yann Frisch. Watch him do some truly amazing magic here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKqThWBrasmlq5Y. - The pack opening trick uses a technique invented by Adrian Plate. It is described in New Era Card Tricks by August Roterberg, The Expert at the Card Table by S.W. Erdnase, and The Annotated Erdnase by Darwin Ortiz. - The Eevee evolution trick is conceptually similar to Ricky Jay’s “Castle Opener” routine, a performance of which can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5LIkqlpnLufd68. The production sequence uses techniques and ideas from S.W. Erdnase, Houdini, Michael Vincent, Lennart Green, Herb Zarrow, Ed Marlo, Carmen D’Amico, and Darwin Ortiz.

When someone is doing magic with raw sleight of hand, people brush it off with "oh he's just really good at handling cards" as if that should take away from the trick. This guy is an absolute wizard with his card handling. In some sense he isn't even doing "tricks".

I was happy also. That's why I posted to tell him some snobs would hate the he ripped the Pikachu. But when I looked at it harder, I am pretty sure he even took the time to get a pepro or filler card. Also his slights are so cool I don't mind if he did make a Gaff out of a $6.00 card.

Next I'd love to see magic done with magic the gathering cards considering how players who play magic the gathering are supposed to be wizards/beings capable of using magic who are also capable of traveling though different dimensions and universes. So in other words it would be like a real life planeswalker using their magic. It would also be cool to see because there is a deck archetype that revolves around control of the deck using deck manipulation, card draw, or deck manipulation and card advantage. So it would be cool to see a magician controlling or manipulating magic cards since a lot of card magic is deck manipulation

I'd love to see you partner up with MaxMakesMagic, MTGRemy or MTGshorts to do a similar video for Magic the Gathering card tricks. There are already interactions in the game that feel like magic because of how radically they transform a card or effect.
