Giving an address close to your home address could sometimes work well. It's still not your address, and many agents will probably assume 1. it's a fake one, and 2. that most people will chose regions which are not in their neighborhood. OTOH FBI and whomever might have statistical and psychological analysis data about percentage of smug, crazy, stupid or smart enough people who will do things like giving an address of a next door neighbor to indulge their complexes, get a kick out of agents sniffing around, or use them as a kinda early warning system, that they have been noticed, and investigation is ongoing.

Yep, it's 5 years (typically). They (the feds) DO use a ton of different exceptions though to get around that. See: 18 U.S. Code § 3282

I'm not a tech guy but it seems ur opsec was A1 but didn't think much about human intel(which makes sense given ur Myers Briggs type). Last question I'm curious of is once they raided, and we're shocked/confused once you Said u were a dark net vendor, how did you not deduct that it wasn't thru the opsec sigint side?
