I have been riding atv's since I was 6...working on them since I was 10. In the last 5yrs I have bought a couple dozen China ATVs that were assembled wrong by US the people who ordered them online! These China ATVs (as long as you did like the video says) , loctite nuts and bolts..maybe put some grade 8 in some of the areas of high stress....they last!! I use the extenders to widing the rear wheel base...."if" you get one that the screws have been ground off from factory on the carb, order a new serviceable carb offline for $8-$15.....change the oil after a few months of riding or once a year....out of the 3 new ones I have purchased, the dozens that I bought used and broken, then fixed.....they truly have lasted and for what little they cost you cannot lose. I am trying my best to keep my business going, I hear people downing the China made ATVs, lowballing me on prices (or trying to).....then I also have people coming back after 2yrs, asking if I can adjust the brakes, maybe replace a tire.....thanking me for selling the such a dependable (China) ATV. Now I have my others as well that have been great. I just saw this and wanted to say what I have. I agree with the video and I am glad that others understand. For me it's money. I cannot afford to buy the top of line and it is difficult selling the China made ones I have...I am doing the best I can to do something I enjoy which is working on ATVs because of an accident that causes me many issues.....it really gets to me when I hear, "China crap" or worse because I know they are not bad, for the price they are actually very very good. Hopefully people will keep posting videos like this and it will help those like myself trying to repair, buy, resell the China ATVs. I mean a 110cc ATV that will pull someone that weighs 185-195, 35mph or more is doing great! Lol Thanks for your video. I enjoyed it!

I love my China Quads. You have to be handy though. I can't justify the expense of Polaris and I'm not going to finance a toy. I have a Roketa 150 I bought in 2014 and it still works. We have two Tao Tao Rhino 250's modified and still on the road. We just picked up a Coolster 150 for the wife and she loves it.

We had a 110cc "TERMINATOR" quad when I was a kid 20 years ago. It was a great machine even with all the abuse my sister and I put it through. The only things we ever had to fix was, carb cleaning and replacing the sprocket bolts after a bit too hard of a reverse to forward gear change. We had it for a decade or so and only stopped riding it after a front hub broke and the transmission burnt up limping it home. Engine still ran strong when we gave it away.

Widening the rear wheel track may improve rollover resistance slightly, but it will in fact reduce the vehicle’s ability to turn, and cause a reduction in overall turning radius. Most four wheeled vehicles employ a wider front wheel track for this purpose. Food for though.

Years ago, I acquired a Kazuma Lacoste 110. It seemed to be better built than the rest of the garden variety Chinese quads, but the suspension was horrible. I did a direct replacement of the front shocks with Suzuki LT 160 shocks. I put an LT 160 shock in the rear after making a mounting adapter out of a piece of square steel tubing. This created a little bit of lift that allowed bigger tires in the back, and then I evened out the width of the front with some wheel spacers. It hauled me around with no problem except when trying to go up a hill. The kids riding it had no problems on the hills.

What I loved about this video is that it was so TRUE. She showed her hesitation about riding it, in fact in getting it in general BUT I'm sure she loved it once she got used to it. Thank you for not just putting a video on here that showed everything PERFECT because we all know it's not going to be. You sold me on not being afraid of buying this size for my 7 year old granddaughter 😊😊

We had a Kazuma Redcat 110 we bought in 2006. Actually still have it, and we did not treat that thing nice. The only thing its ever needed is oil changes and a fender repair after we backed it into a camper. The thing was bullet proof. We took that thing places it shouldn't have been and it survived it all. Mud snow, surprised it never missed a beat.

Great video I don't get those unboxing videos make no sense to me. We are a family of 5 I just bought my son his graduation gift he is 11 and going on to middle school 2002 Honda XR100 great bike but was $1000 and I also have 2 younger girls 7 and 6 and they wanted something too so I bought 1 used ATV 110 for $400 today and they are urging to get on and ride and now im planning on getting a second one. As the sole income of the family we have to figure out money all the time but with the stay at home order we are ready to get out and have fun this summer. The price on the these are very affordable the throttle adjustment is great and it's a Green Sticker come on it sells itself. Great to see a video from someone who is using it not just commenting on what's in the box.

Ive had a Kayo Bull 200 for 3 years. New engine after one year. frame welding occasionally. Brake shoes, new carb. No electrical problems at all. Some mechanical know how will save you a ton of money. We have excellent dealer support at Wise Choice Motorsports in Tiffin, Ohio but of course it COSTS. For the price point you can't really go wrong buying one of these. BUT, if it is ridden HARD, it will break. So be prepared to either repair it yourself or Pay big bucks to a dealer to fix it.

When my son was very young we had a 90cc Kazuma. The thing was fast, really fast. Now that I have two boys and they're a bit older we're going to go ahead and get them a couple 125 bikes. These bikes always come running lean you can usually just raise the needle in the carburetor and get a lot more performance

Good, accurate video. I have two ChinaBikes, one pit bike and a 150cc adult-sized Tao Bull 150-D utility ATV. Our ATV is a 2014 and, apart from a chain replacement, one CDI replacement and yearly oil changes, it runs like a champ going on 7 years now. Most of the issues I’ve had with the 125cc Coolster pitbike are upgrading the chain to a DID Japanese chain, putting a genuine Mikuni carburetor on that was properly tuned, and getting a better quality chain slider. All of those parts were had for less than $130 since we’ve owned the bike. Frankly, I’ve had to do the same with any Japanese bikes I’ve owned, but at a much more significant cost as their OEM parts are much more costly. I’m all for purchasing cheaper Chinese Powersports brands that are already demonstrating themselves to be sufficiently reliable (Tao Tao, Coolster, Vitacchi, etc. and of course, the more expensive Pitster Pro/GPX and Thumpstar brands).

I have owned 2. The 125 3 speed model I regret, it could not even maintain it's speed in third gear. Foot area was too small for most teens and engine failed in one year. The other, a 110 eagle, is still running strong several years later. It has been rode hard and has held up good. For what I paid for the hundreds of hours fun the kids have had I consider it a bargain. I am about to buy more but this time, as suggested, I will pay a little extra and buy from our Kayo dealer.

Had one for 4 years, new carb, new shocks to upgrade the front and to replace blown rear, frame broke twice, keep welding), inner plastic on the sit broke ( used fiberglass to reinforce), made wheel spacers for the rear to kinda keep it in line with front wheels, new battery, new chain, old one stretched, fabricated additional motor mount to support front of the motor (small piece of metal that motor mounts to is too soft, bent) Front brakes are useless no little kid is able to reach the handlebar lever nor has strength to squeeze it all the way! Only nice thing is the hydraulic disc Foot brake . Also have Yamaha raptor 90 , so just usual oil changes and no issues at all!

In my experience with Chinese quads, bikes or go karts is that the engines are solid and reliable. Thing is, everything beyond that is cheap junk that just doesn’t hold up. Especially if you ride them regularly on trails. Even riding around the yard can be hard on them. They require a lot of maintenance to keep in operation.

I recently bought a used X Pro 125cc for my grandson. I soon discovered that many bolts were lose or missing. I replaced bolts, added locktite, lockwashers, lock nuts and remedied that problem. I have replaced the carb and had to wire in a connetor to the CDI. The machine runs well but currently I have to jump the solenoid to start it. I suspect it is the brake safety switch. I have worked on everything from tractors to trucks so I am figuring this machine out but it would be great to have a manual. So far I am not having any luck. I don't really even know what to call this ATV as I never find X Pro listed anywhere. People on the internet say there are no manuals. Is there any manual, even a generic one that would help me? Enjoyed your video.

Bought one of these 125 Tao Tao ATV's for my Granddaughter 5 years ago and she still rides it. It has held up well. I forgot to turn the fuel lever off last winter and run the carb dry. It wouldn't start this spring, the carb was ruined. The good news, a replacement carb was less than $15 from Amazon. I put the new carb on and it runs great. Her Tao Tao has a hand operated shift lever instead of the foot operated. She really enjoys her ATV on the ranch.

Me too! And the unfortunate thing is that the carbs that come on these bikes are "non-serviceable" (which means that there is no way to access the bowl/float/jets). The screws that hold the lower half of the carb on are intentionally smoothed over so that you cannot unscrew them! To your point, the replacement carb is relatively cheap. I think I saw them for $25. But you SHOULD be able to service a carburetor! I took a dremmel to the screw heads and I WAS able to get carb open. My jets were covered in green goo. You can thank the ethanol lobby for that... After massive amounts of carb cleaner and scrubbing, I was able to get it back in working order. I hope this helps someone else. I will definitely remember to drain it when not being used for a while.

I love these things, because most people who can afford them new are the kind of people who don't know how to maintain them. Then, after the carb got clogged or the cdi box failed or a wire got broken, they get parked. Years later, I get to buy them for $100 and fix them up for cheap. There are many different ones...some tiny, some just big enough for an adult, some auto with one speed, others auto with reverse, some with 3 speeds. They all come with a bunch of garbage wiring for the safety switches/remote start and other safetys. I remove all the extra wiring to help them be reliable for me.

My honest opinion about China quads are they are not that bad I have a roketa 150cc from 03! And it still runs and rides it looks like hell but it has been reliable for the most part I've replaced the cdi once and stator twice other than that we just beat the snot out of it ...I would say if your thinking about buying one go for it

I'm looking to pick one of these up for my almost 4 year old. He has a couple power wheels but goes through the battery's so fast. I just hope he can figure out braking. I might drag the brakes for him at first so it slows down by itself. Thanks for the video
@DoItYourselfDad
@DoItYourselfDad 2 жыл бұрын
That’s a good idea, also, run the tires with no pressure in them. They won’t come off the wheels, but the resistance will help slow him down and it’ll make it ride softer too.

@@DoItYourselfDad since you responded so quick, I have another question. How is the Chinese quad holding up? I was debating between this one (new) and say a 20 year old Japanese one, say like a Yamaha or Suzuki. I'm hoping ether one I can hand down from my soon to be 4 year old to my newest newborn.

Are you sure the Key Fob is an alarm? Everything I've read about these is that it's a remote kill switch for parental control if the little one starts to get out of control. Still needs the battery disconnect so it doesn't drain the battery but wanted to check whether it's a kill switch or an actual alarm. Great review.
@DoItYourselfDad

I believe the newer models are a Killswitch, ours was definitely an alarm, woke us up a couple times in the middle of the night. I wish it was a kill switch, would’ve been nice for my daughter first started riding.

I haven’t been down to Glamis in years, these are great little quads, although I wouldn’t recommend him once the kid got a little bit older (heavier) in the sand. May not have the power. With a younger kid, and just zipping around the campsite these would be perfect.

The thing RIPS!! 35mph is fastest I have got it! I have to tighten up the bolts and nuts on the rear end every now and again. Change oil and keep in garage they'll be fine. They are starting to fall apart now though. tao tao 125 quads.
