No it’s stagnant you only get unique games from indie devs now. AAA companies don’t bother making games unless it’s following trends and/or can be heavily monetized. Most unique game I’ve played that came from a triple AAA company in the past 10 years, and this is only because they published it, is It Takes Two. Every company is sitting on their laurels with established IP. No need for innovation, their words.

Sword and Shield costs just as much, and practically, moreso than this product which is of almost objectively higher quality by any metric. whereas McDonald's provides cheaply priced food and thrives on that model. for your analogy to work, Sword and Shield (the McDonald's meal) would have to cost $10-$20, or this game (the steak dinner) would have to cost $100-$120.
