This song is so cathartic because, for just this once, DDLC is actually being a normal dating sim again. Our boy finally gets to say what he wanted to say but never got to. In that sense, Sayori just feels like the most satisfying choice here. This is the timeline where he doesn't lose her and realizes how much she means to him before it's too late.

This song is the fantasy of every ddlc fan came true; whoever you choose is THE long waited ending of each girl. Sayori is finally given back all the love and care she gave to the guy she cared the most for. Natsuki finally gets someone she can fully trust and be herself with. Yuri gets an authentic taste of appreciation for who she really is, by someone who helps her to bloom instead of shrinking in shame. And Monika finally has... an ACTUAL ending... idk someone has to help me to elaborate on that one.

Okay even if i picked Monika first, as she’s my favorite. I feel like this version makes so much more since since Sayori’s known MC for the longest out of the club, MC probably is having the most fun here as he’s doing something great with his childhood friend. And i think that’s so sweet!

Now Sayori, she is the character I 1st picked on when playing the mod. I feel that no one is as deserving of the love and affection that MC has to offer as much as Sayori. Yo, that part at 2:50 when Sayori starts singing the refrain you can hear the protagonist saying "itte itte", wich i believe means "say" or "say it", it looks like he's encouraging her to keep singing! i don't know if it was intentional, but damn if it was thats is really really cool!

it actually was somewhat intentional on my part LOL every single you and me mix has protag sing a little backing verse when the chorus comes back around, and for sayori i wanted to make it sound like he was cheering her on. while the vowels sounding like itte itte was coincidental, he’s definitely encouraging her there

I always felt that in terms of MC as his own character, Sayori always felt like the best choice to pick. I mean c'mon, the two are best buds! Seeing the two being together just warms my heart 😊 That being said, this mix is definitely my favorite. Well done, you two!

But I'm scared of what they'll think of me!" MC looks up at the sky and screamed once more. "PLEASE, GIVE ME A SIGN!!!" [1:32] "It's not bad to feel this way right? It's normal to have these kinds of feelings, right? Please tell me if I have a chance!" However, that certain someone has been walking on MC's neighborhood, overheard what he's yelling to himself. They went over to MC, [1:42] And that certain someone is.... PICK YOUR DOKI! *SAYORI ROUTE, ACTIVATED.** [1:52] Sayori overheard it all. She's concerned for MC, as she asks what's wrong. [1:57] MC is distressed, overthinking it all because this is the first time he'll confess to a girl, let alone, he's about to confess to Sayori. He's thinking of doing it now, since she's already here. [2:04] Sayori reassures MC that everything will be okay. "And if the girl you like rejects you, at least you gave it a shot!" Sayori says, her voice mixed with a bit of sadness, lowkey hoping MC likes her in the slightest. [2:10] "B-but I'm scared! I might lose our friendship if I decided to confess! I don't know what to do if that ever happened!" MC's voice cracks. He wanted to say it now, but the words couldn't get out of his mouth. [2:16] Sayori: "Do I know this person? Is she studying on our school?" MC: "Yes, she is. She's a student on our school." [2:20] Sayori: "Is she a member of our club?" MC: "Yes, she is a member of our club." [2:27] "Okay, I'm going to say this right now, until I still have the courage gathered in my heart." MC's heartbeat goes fast as he's about to say what he wants to say. [2:32:] "I am in love with you, Sayori. I'm so dumb for not realizing it sooner. I'm sorry it took me so long to realize." [2:39] Sayori is shocked, her eyes watering and eventually tears running down on her face. "W-wait, really? You're not joking, right? Do you actually feel this way?" [2:43] "Yes, Sayori. You're the only one I want to be with. But I don't want to ruin our friendship just because of these feelings for you." Sayori's soft audible cries are heard as MC speaks. [2:51] "You have no idea how long I've been wanting to hear that from you. I wanted to say this to you so badly.", Sayori sobs. [2:56] "Say it, Sayori, Say it," MC cheers her on. The whimsical rendition of Dreams of Love & Literature in the beginning really makes it feel like an anime, especially the way it's used in the game panning up to the sky, the music compliments the visual perfectly. It goes well with the Sayori mix too, since Sayo-nara ties the theme to their relationship.

If I'm not wrong, this song's name is a reference to *You and Me and Her,* a thriller game that also had the theme of being a dating simulator-turned "horror" experience. It inspired DDLC, think I heard that somewhere. I played You and Me and Her after I heard about it inspiring DDLC and the game has cemented its existence in my heart. Y&M&H straight up had me sitting in a bed at 3am pondering the morality of the video game world VS reality itself. Amazing experience for literally anyone who has the ability to experience emotions, which should be all of you lonely little people. A small summary for those who want just a bit more, Y&M&H is a beautiful love story with a COMPLETELY unique experience for every single person that plays it, and I'm not even joking about that. This game has a more "finalized" ending and carries the theme of a love story better. I honestly could argue that this game succeeds in the general _"Aw what a cute love sto- wait a second"_ type game better than DDLC, but DDLC is definitely a better horror experience for those looking to shit themselves. Y&M&H is like a really good romance anime that happens to be a video game and takes advantage of that fact. See for yourself if any of that intrigues you. It's $15 if I'm not mistaken. Good choice for any of you that didn't experience DDLC firsthand. I will tell nothing else, as it's so good that I'd rather you know nothing so you can see everything. You can be aware of the oncoming 4th Wall break, but even that knowledge can't prepare you for this experience. You may get stuck, but I recommend you exhaust all your options before you take a gander at Steam Guides. They may spoil a very brief part of the game, but an intelligent mind should be able to wander these posts and leave spoil-free. Absolutely adore both DDLC and Y&M&H. Both games unironically changed the way I carried myself after the fact, and I'd rather call these games straight up life experiences because of that. They both stay very close to my heart and have the only soundtracks in this world that can make me cry on demand. If there was one game I'd recommend, it's You and Me and Her. Try it, and regardless, I wish you a good day.
