Don was not only handsome but a real sweetheart. Here in 2024, I just turned 60, but in the 1980's, I was in my mid-20's and had friends who knew the band personally. I had the pleasure of meeting them and as crazy as it seems now,I didn't think that they would receive me very well,considering that I'm black. Those guys were some of the kindest, nicest men that I had ever met. I used to dream that Don was standing below my bedroom window , singing this song to me . He, and the rest of the band ,left a powerful,lifelong impact on me. It was so sad and devastating that their personality and professional issues, broke them up but I never forgot them and continue to wish them well.🤗💕

I think of this song as the first of the 80's "power ballads" and Dokken's "Walk Away" as the last. They're both great--I can't decide which one I like better... Other 80's bands did "power ballads," but Dokken's were the best. Most other bands' ballads sounded unimaginative and/or anemic.
