It was because we were approaching the climax of the Cold War and thought that the world was about to end. So, instead of worrying about material things such as sex, food, and money, we tried to find a higher, transcendent meaning in childish ambition, patriotism, and happy music/films/pop-culture. Teenagers became *king* ! When the USSR collapsed with such a pathetic whimper, it all evaporated. And it has only gone downhill from there.

Freddie Kruger appears on the seen to get this kid and the kid sprays Freddie with a lightning bolt from his hands. Absolutely hysterical. Harry Potter would be blushing. I would've done exactly the same thing myself. Of course Dokken is one of the great bands of the Age of musical Wizards. Masters in every genre of the time. I lie awake and dread the lonely nights I'm not alone I wonder if these heavy eyes Can face the unknown When I close my eyes I realize You'll come my way I'm standing in the night alone Forever together We're the Dream Warriors Don't wanna dream no more We're the dream warriors And maybe tonight Maybe tonight you'll be gone I feel the touch comin' over me I can't explain I hear the voices callin' out Callin' my name It's the same desire to feel the fire That's comin' your way I'm standing in the night alone Forever together We're the dream warriors Don't wanna dream no more We're the dream warriors Maybe tonight you'll be gone We're the dream warriors Ain't gonna dream no more And maybe tonight Maybe tonight you'll be gone Sweet revenge, the bitter end This time Break the spell of illusion Bound together waiting for you Dream warriors Don't wanna dream no more We're the dream warriors Maybe tonight you'll be gone We're the dream warriors Ain't gonna dream no more We're the dream warriors And maybe tonight Maybe tonight you'll be gone Dream warriors Maybe tonight you'll be gone Dream warriors, forever Dream warriors Maybe tonight you'll be gone Dream warriors... 😴

Lynch said in an interview: “They built this elaborate horror set for us for the video. And we were in the trailers, you know they had production trailers. We’re suppose to be getting ready, and Freddy was all in make-up. So he looks like - he looks in ‘Nightmare on Elm Street”. Which was kind of bizarre to be sitting there talking to a guy that looks like that you know. He had the gloves with the blades on and we were doing coke (cocaine). So, he’s using his blade fingers, to serve up coke to everybody. With the knife hand thing. It was kind of surreal. I mean hey, that is a long time ago, that is what everyone was doing back in the day sorry, but it’s a true story. I was so high (on cocaine) during the making of that video. I couldn’t bust through the wall. There is a point in my guitar solo where I am suppose to come crashing through this wall. The wall is called a break away wall. It’s made, so that it looks like a real wall, but a fly could break through it, an infant could break through it. But I was so high and so weak I couldn’t even break through it. And they had to keep re-setting up the wall, and re-shooting it because I couldn’t fucking get through it. They thought, ‘Oh Lynch is buff, he’ll get through that thing no problem’ - which is why in the video, you watch it, I am laughing.”

This is pure nostalgia for me. I was too young to be into the rock scene in the 80s, but I certainly watched a lot of movies back then. They would always use songs like this in them. The combination of 80s movies and 80s hair metal is just the best sort of comfort food. 🎸🔊🎶
