🎥 Natalia Jonderko Śmiechowicz.
“While writing the new record, we had written a lot of music, but I sometimes got stuck with the lyrics so I decided to go camping” explains Don Dokken. “I came across a woman wearing a lot of necklaces and jewelry. She was driving an old wagon with one horse and she was stuck in a hole, I asked her if she needed help but she said ‘no the sun will be up soon’. She had a fire going and invited me to have some food that was cooking in an old pot, so I did and we began to talk.”
“She spoke in broken English and looked Navaho” continues Don. “There is a reservation here in New Mexico. The first thing she said to me was ‘you make music’ and I was intrigued by that, so we sat there for several hours and talked, she looked very old yet wise. She told me about her life living on the reservation and I told her about my life. She told me I had lost my way, which I found funny since she seemed to be lost but wasn’t! It was pitch black, she looked up and said ‘the stars guide me’ and started speaking Navaho. I found the experience very surreal!”
Don concludes, “I got my jack out of my truck and lifted up her wagon, we both gathered a lot of rocks and filled the hole so she could get her wagon unstuck, and then she just walked away and started to drive off without saying a word, but then she shouted back to me and said ‘the sun is coming up… you need to go, the coyotes and mountain lions will be hunting soon’... very wise advice!”
Watch/listen to ‘Fugitive’: • DOKKEN - Fugitive (Off... . Video directed by Chris Eyre (Dark Winds, Smoke Signals) at Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Video by Tom Strickfaden.
Exchange the urban heat of the Sunset Strip for the warm wilderness of New Mexico, as Dokken bring their timeless convertible Ferrari rock’n’roll power to the table with some key modifications along the creative path. Working with engineer Bill Palmer over the course of a year at his studio in Santa Fe, the Dokken flavours remain as potent as ever, yet they’re also sprinkled with some desert seasoning which gives Heaven Comes Down a richness hitherto unseen on a Dokken album.
You want to rock? Sink your teeth into ‘Fugitive’, which rides some shimmering guitar work courtesy of 20+ year member Jon Levin, and if you want ballads, head on over to ‘I’ll Never Give Up’, hanging on that Coliseum chorus, Levin laying down a landmark solo. The pattern of Heaven Comes Down never falters in delivering the goods on both sides of the fence. ‘Just Like A Rose’ brings the Pacific Coast Highway to desert plains with its smooth, effortlessly-driven gears, and ‘Saving Grace’ carries a mystical malevolence. But ‘Santa Fe’ is perhaps the most revealing with Don Dokken opening up with what amounts to a ‘life-moment biography’: a spartan acoustic arrangement allowing the rich yet road-driven vocals to frame what might well prove to be the defining moment of Dokken’s career.
Mixed by Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Joe Bonamassa) and produced by Bill Palmer and Don Dokken, fans will love it, neutrals will be wonderfully surprised by some of the ingredients within Heaven Comes Down.
Heaven Comes Down will be released on CD Digipak, 12” Vinyl Album in Black and colour variants, digital formats and special D2C products and bundles. Available to pre-order now at this location: lnk.to/DokkenHeavenComesDown

What will keep Don above ground, is letting Don do what he always has. Rock the world. He and others in our Era, in essence, raised us, as youth. Opening our eyes, leaning to stand up, learning to love that 'one and only' you just card into the tree-bark. Dokken, is as timeless as Aerosmith, is to the 1960's-2000's. Ww only love once, we only die once (most of us)... lol

@RockDawg77
@RockDawg77 9 ай бұрын
@@Neilbear5820 Rich, with all due respect, gently, that is a serious slap in the face to Lynch, Pilson, Brown, Norum, Beach, Baltes, White, Dee, and every other amazing musician that has been part of the Dokken legacy. They are not robots. They and Don made the legacy what it is. Don deserves the credit for what he has created and blessed all of us fans with. Especially keeping it going at all costs. Hard to think of too many we can say that about in metal history. Not to mention, Don's got one of the coolest rock names in history. As do Lynch, Pilson, Wild Mick, Norum, Reb and every other incredible musician we own a debt of gratitude to. But to reduce the entire legacy to such a simple, and forgive us, but stupid, statement, it's almost like you want to start unnecessary conflict in the Dokken community. With the number of us out here who think Lynch has been right there with EVH and the rightful heir to the throne, your comment is off the wall ridiculous. It's almost as if you've never seen the band live, or even seen live performances on yt, etc. We're seriously starting to wonder if there is any other band fan community where so many jerks call themselves fans but say such stupid, divisive, put down, slighting, derogatory, immature, illogical, irresponsible, narcissistic, self serving and about 10,000 other selfish comments about the band and it's members than people that say they're part of the Dokken fan legacy but are anything but. We hope to heck this comment gets so many thumbs up from real fans that every moron that hangs out in anything Dokken and says anything negative band gets shamed into oblivion. If you can't say it to Don, George, Jeff, Mick, the Johns, Reb, and everyone else in the band's face, shut the h#!! up. You're not a fan. Fans don't say things they could not say straight to the artist's face. "Oh yeah, I'm your biggest fan. Have been for decades. I love your paintings 30 years ago. But not the new ones. I don't like the paintings you've done in the last 20 years because I think they are no where near as good as your first 5 back 40 years ago. That one painting you did 10 years ago. With a different medium. It really sucked. And that collection of sculptures you created when you wanted to do something different as a human being and artistic expression. That was the worst. And don't even get me started on that folk song you wrote. When your wife and daughter sang it. Your daugter is ok but your wife is a horrible singer. Get rid of her and don't quit your day job. But I'm a big fan." What a joke. People who get on a fan forum and make statements slighting members of a artistic legacy are not fans. The are weak acting like immature uneducated spineless children on an elementary school playground.
