Dolby Atmos & Dolby TrueHD Is It The Same, What Is The Difference Really?

Please disregard all my electronic dusts, hard to keep up with dusting.
In the video I point out why it is important to have 3-D surround sound and not so much a 4K resolution.

they are the same sound quality, Atmos just gives you extra height channels you don't get with true HD, which IMO isn't worth it as most movies put very little info to those channels anyway, if yo hv a good true HD 7.1 esp with 2 subs 7.2 you are fine. enjoy and be happy...

What does 4K have anything to do with Atmos or TrueHD? Atmos is available in FHD blurays.

True regular Blu-rays(FHD) has atmos,dts:x, etc… was just ranting bout 4K resolution not fully optimized yet. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thanks budd, you need a 4K/2k disc, receiver, and device that has atmos such as a ps5/xbsx or 4K Blu-ray player and two height speakers

Any atmos is good, that avr10 arcam is all you ever will need for atmos

No, you have to have a Dolby atmos receiver so that it can convert to atmos. A truHD player certain ones like my 2k Panasonic took an atmos track and played it in atmos. Great question.

IMO, atmos is worth the money only if it is 5.1.2. If you’re only doing 5.1 you don’t need atmos.

Bro does your AV receiver support Dolby Atmos sound? And is there a drastic difference between Dolby TrueHD 7.1 vs Dolby Atmos??

Yes my brother my AVR and AVP supports Dolby Atmos. Between TrueHD and Atmos it might not be drastic as much in sound but definitely you can distinguish that the extra Atmos layer sounds better; also Atmos is object based and truHD is channel based, depending on which one you prefer will sway your decision.

@@hoodeddragons Wrong! The Atmos require hardware decoding! So even though your AVR can decode Dolby TrueHD, this does not guarantee that it would support Atmos!

If you don’t have a base layer of 5 channels and atmos ceiling speakers. Atmos is pointless. Truehd is the best you can get. Atmos is object based, truehd is channel based

Bro actually iam Using 2016 Yamaha Rxa 2050 Avr receiver any 4k disc plays only shows Dolby true hd is it fine

@@jeevanmotors4275 don't know why your receiver doesn't display atmos, but as long as your getting object base sound its good enough; if your set-up is capable it should display atmos. For instance your signal can say dolby trueHD but your output should say dolby atmos to get the true object base surround.
