I would like to see more videos like this challenge with other budget brands to show that atmos can be done on the cheap.

What would be good budget points above $2k?
@PaulWilliams06 ай бұрын
@@DaveMcCall actually I have a slightly different question. If you were going to spend more money what would be the piece(s) to upgrade? And what is the next step up?
@DaveMcCall6 ай бұрын
@@PaulWilliams0 Okay... So you're thinking of starting with incremental improvements rather than trying to hit price points. The obvious place to upgrade first is the monitors. Then maybe the interface or monitor controller (one that could do bass management would be a big step up). We cut every possible corner to get close to the $2000 price point... so this isn't a recommended system or a how-to... more of a proof of concept that you don't need to break the bank to get into Atmos mixing. I'd consider this setup more "training wheels" for a proper Atmos mixing rig. A great way to get familiar with concepts and techniques and practice mixing in 3-D... then when you're ready to step up to a "real" system, you'll find things so much faster/easier/more inspiring. This video was my concept (I work in marketing at SW) and we are planning more videos in this series. I'm just trying to find out what approach would be most useful to folks. Thanks for your input!

Seems complicated with the mackie speakers only having 1 amp per pair of speakers, would be a more flexible setup if the speakers didnt have to be connected to each other with speaker wire

I truly get the purpose of the video, but at the same time it harms the industry. This is the reason why so much music this days have bad mix and production. We keep thinking doing it for the cheap. This kind of video have a trickle effect….
