If you’re talking about my neck hair, it grows the opposite of my facial hair, so I didn’t go against the grain.

I used to use disposables to shave. It was bad, to say the least lol. The blades would clog constantly. I'd have to break out an old toothbrush to get the hairs out of the blades. It wasn't smooth at all. I'd compare it to shaving with a steak knife. Then I got a membership to the Dollar Shave Club. I paid 5 bucks for their executive pack. It came with a travel sized tube of the shave butter, some hand cream, and some flushable butt wipes and the handle and 4 razors. The first shave, the blades felt a little rough but that wasn't anything I wasn't used to but they didn't clog, so that was a plus. Once they started to get broken in a bit, the shave became smoother and easier. I was, and am, still impressed by the closeness and quality of the shave. And I do have to say, that as far as cartridge razors go, the $9.00 price tag for 4 blades every month isn't really that bad. Especially when you compare it to the outrageous costs of the blades at the store. Some of those blades you buy at the store can run you up to 20 bucks! Ouch! So the 9 dollars ain't really that high if you ask me. I would recommend that guys who are looking for a good close shave without the high price tag, to at least get the 5 dollar kit from the Dollar Shave Club and give it a go.

@theory816 What do you mean here and more importantly - how does one “avoid” doing this? Doesn’t shaving do this no matter what??

I have no problems shaving against the grain with my Dorco blades and I get a very close shave with no razor bumps and very little razor burn. Just a litle razor burn around the bottom middle of my neck which is always a tough area for me. Been using Dorco/DSC for nearly two years. The Dorco/DSC 4-blade razor with the Pace Power handle give my face a great shave that is very comparable to my older Gillette Mach 3 Turbo Power razor I really, REALLY like both Dr.Carver’s Shave Butter AND Post Shave Lotion!

Blasphemy! I'm just kidding, it's good to see you back in a shaving video. My credo is, shave with what works for you. That being said, I've been down the cartridge road. I have a heavy beard, and I had a dedicated toothbrush to clear out the clogging of the 5 or 6 bladed cartridges. I don't experience clogging with my (non-Gillette) DE razors. I prefer open combs like the Fatip. I'm not a shaving snob by any means. If a certain razor works for you, that's great! Everyone has different preferences. Again, it's good to see you back! :)

+The Spectre it's good to be back! I get clogging with closed comb razors, and even some single edge razors. I have a heavy beard, as well. The fact that this razor had zero clogs after two passes amazed me. With 6 blades, that's the equivalent of 12 passes. 12 passes and no clogs is unheard of. I promise you that my next shaving video won't be a cartridge!

Yo!!Do you still recommend this product I’ve been using this for a few weeks and I’m getting razor burns and ingrown hairs and I also don’t go against the grain so I don’t k is why I also hydrate and but the shave butter before doing it

What was the results for the week or month after using it? I just got a sample box myself and when I shave, well, once every year cuz I hate to do it cuz of the razor burn and such, its annoying so I don't. so I got a box, and waiting to try it, and just did a search and found your review here. makes me looking forward to getting my box.

+Philo Beddoe I have zero ingrown hairs and zero irritation with this razor! It's great! Mind you, it's not "baby bottom smooth," but that's ok!

that may be why I get the irritation and such. I have been going against the grain my whole life with the cartridge blade. mine comes in today. cant wait!!!!

Man I'm so jealous of how easy shaving is for other people. My beard is a BITCH. Even straight out of the shower with plenty of shaving cream/butter, I could NEVER just hack away like he does at 2:05 *edit: omg, this guy thinks he has a thick beard, yeah right... the razor just glides over his face like nothing.
@gregsullivan74086 жыл бұрын
If I can't go against the grain forget it - I'd just use an electric razor. The *only* reason to shave with a blade, for me, is to get BBS.
@PulseEyeBlu6 жыл бұрын
Greg Sullivan you can. Many people do. What you don’t want to do is shave against the grain as the first pass. That’s how ingrown hairs and razor bumps occur. And that goes for any razor.

+Dan Hecht zero ingrown hairs. Multiple passes don't give you ingrown hairs. Going against the grain and cutting the hair below the surface gives you ingrown hairs.

Definitely go against the grain. Because your hair grows differently. If it’s uncomfortable then you need a better razor 😂
