I loved this! So many get so lost amongst the idea that expensive means better. Our hearts, our energy, is what brings the life to the practice - which is why some witches, warlocks, or magic users in general can conjure a spell within themselves, while others prefer the more traditional, ritualistic approach. some are strong in tarot and palmistry, others can taste the rain in the air even days before it comes. The magic comes from within, in your spirit, because energy cannot be created nor destroyed, but rather transferred. So your tools merely are the vessel in which your energy travels and amplifies. I used that same candle holder, lol! I used masking tape to form the pentacle on the bottom, then spray painted it. I wasn't quite comfortable lighting a candle directly on a painted surface.😏 I'm a big fan of the dollar store!

I buy a lot of stuff at the dollar tree. Candles and candle holders,a cute little mirror that looks antique-ish, little jars, figurines to represent the goddess,a pretty glass for a chalice,etc. Thank you for sharing ☺️there are a ton of hidden treasures out there. I was rabbit hole-ing, and thats how I found y'all. I feel like more practioners NEED to tell newbie/baby witches that practicing on a budget is not only ok, but sometimes better!!! I wish I knew that practicing on a budget was ok when I first started looking into this... I didn't know and every time I went into a metaphysical store and I was looking at all the really pretty crystals and bowls and rings, just all of it, I wished I had a way to afford it at that time, (spoiler- I still can't afford it.) But I live in a cramped space, with not a lot of room. I can't have an alter, (no room) My megar supplies are alllll over the place... there needs to be more videos like this!!! I subscribing just because of that. Please do more videos like this. Tell the newbie/ baby witches/ broke witches that its ok to practice like this!!!!! Any ideas for a temporary alter you can take down when your done casting?

Christmas ornaments are good for star shapes and bells. Sometimes can find stuff like that off season at a thrift store.

@@heartofthewitchspath6876 Also sometimes the Dollar Tree has gift boxes, in various shapes. A round one would work well to make a portable altar (especially for in the closet newbies). They can collage magazine images of the elements inside the lid, then make a pentacle over them using washi tape from the Dollar Tree. Then, they can just use the box to carry the other tools they are using in their practice.

I actually made my pentacle tile the same way! I also got the set of glass bowl too. Mostly using them to collect a ashes right now. Dollar stores are amazing. I'm constantly going there for new ideas.

I love using Dollar Tree products in my craft! I paint my own homemade sigils on the flat, round candle holders and charge my perfume, jewelry, crystals....all kinds of stuff. I have a couple dozen of the small dip bowls, and use them for everything. They're my primary element bowls during circle, and I'm currently working on custom painting them.

for folks who have not burned resins on charcoal....the sand heats up...don't put the censer/holder/burner directly on a table, etc. i use those flat candleholders to "hold" items for focused spell work... esp for friends & family... and to make offerings at the altar Peace

If something feels unnecessary in your craft, or if you feel that something is necessary to you that no one else mentions, do it your way. Really. hi, This is a great video :) I have been on the path only a few years - *raised hand* late bloomer :) - I live in a smaller place in Norway where we don't have a witchy store. The closest ones are about 4-6 hours away. Instead buying online and make my credit card bleed, I must get crafty, use my imagination and take what I have around the house :) First thing I learned is that it is about intention :)

As they pointed out in this video, there are a lot of things you can make yourself with really basic things found at the store (doesn't need to be the dollar store, but they are nice) even a craft store is a good place to start. Believe it or not, Pinterest actually has some really great DIYs for witches and witchy things. I have lived in the Bible belt going on five years, so I know what its like not to have access to the "proper" stores.

When I'm given trinket gifts, I try to think if it can be used magically. I have an entire small metal tea/sake set that I use to hold things, and a clay bowl I use as an offering bowl. I used to use it as a cauldron, but I found one at a yard sale for 25 cents. Yard sales and auctions make great places to get handy things for really cheap!

I go to Dollar Tree once a month, my Uncle takes me. During Halloween I found a plastic cup with a purple hand on it, which I was drawn to for a chalice. Last month I found a notebook that had special meaning to me, and I use it for a pocket Book of Shadows. I'm going to use something else to record spells and rituals. A composition book is a good idea, thank you.

I love this. I've practiced for 27yrs but I've always been a thrifty witch. I've been disabled from the start and my cash flow is always a trickle at best. I was just thinking you could even take one of the bowls and paint the outside black so you can fill it up with the water and scry. I would probably seal the paint with spray clear coat but it would be amazing.

Consider yourself in the drawing! I was in your shoes once and I would give you two pieces of advice... 1) don't let lack of tools stop you from starting out. They aren't necessary, but just tools. They are helpful, but not required. You are your best tool. To that end... 2) don't feel like you have to jump into doing spells. I did that with some potentially scary results. Learn. Read. Im a closeted 13 year old baby witch and I found this very helpful! Thank you. I have one question though. In my dresser there’s a cabinet for books, could I use that for a space for my alter? Ovbiously I wouldn’t put heat in there because it would burn and I’m not allowed to light candles or have any in my room, but could I put other things? And can I use alternatives to candles?

Sounds like a great place for an altar! No, you don't need candles and depending on what you'd want to use them for, there are tons of alternatives. To fire, you can use a book of matches or something in the color of red or orange. Walter Oneal I’ve done some more research on witchcraft and I’m a kitchen witch that dabbles into other things as well. I’ve decided not to follow wiccan/pagan beliefs. I don’t understand how mixing and brewing herbs and spices can go against god??? It’s just basically making tea with a hint of magick??? Of course! You don't have to use either! Scented sprays have become very popular in recent years and they can be purchased or make your own! For a fire replacement, you can always have a candle and not light it or you can frame a picture of a lit candle or fire. Be creative!!! What speaks to you! BB

As I told another commenter, look into LED (battery) candles which can also be found in the dollar store. I worship a little differently, but I still use candle lighting and I could never do live candles with the sensitive smoke detectors in my pad! ;) They can be found in different colors, or cover them with tissue paper and tape with clear masking tape.

Thanks so much for watching! I use silver for the Goddess, because silver is connected to the Moon, as the Goddess also is. And I use gold for the God because it's linked with the Sun.

Do you have to use a lighter, I seen own you one KZbin channel that if you use the light it will reverse what you want to do and wooden matches are better. What do you all think?

I use both so my suggestion is to use what you have. I do know people who only use wooden matches and that's fine, but sometimes you just gotta use what you have. Hope this helps! BB

Do your elements have to be that size? I ended up buying shot glasses because it held my thinner candles well and they came in a set so I was thinking putting my water element and maybe finding a corresponding candle for spirit

When it comes to choosing a god and goddess for our altar, is one allowed to work with deities from different pantheons simultaneously? Ex: Hecate and Thoth? Can one have same sex deities from different pantheons? Ex: Osiris and Hades? We can print out photos and frame the deities?

Great questions and there are lots of different answers, but only one is the most important... what feels right to you? I work with two deities from different pantheons and they are fine with each other. You develop relationships with all your spirit guides so ask them if they want to work together with you.
