I still dont understand why people hate air friers either.. i have Crohns disease which prevents me from fried stuff - so i just cook em in the air frier and there is no difference in taste - but no oil is used. My sister tried the frier we had.. and hated it. Im confused. P.S french fries in it tasted the same way as in the hotel i was in, but 0% oil on my fingers

The problem is that they call it an "air fryer" instead of what it is: a countertop convection oven. When you think of it as a small oven that uses a lot less electricity and cooks things evenly (and with less moisture buildup) because of the convection, your whole outlook on the thing changes. If you're looking for a fryer, you're going to be sorely disappointed, 'cuz it ain't one nohow.

An air fryer is just a convection oven. The only difference between it and a conventional oven is the convection oven has fans that force the air around the food so it doesn't take as long to cook. They both cook with hot air. Calling them an air fryer is just a gimmick.
