I'd recommend eating it in 3 days rather than 4 for the best quality and cleaniness of the food, but I also say, add some rice to it, and buy some kind of fresh vegetable that you can find that is relatively cheap. It'll bump the price up, but will also give you alot more nutrition, hopefully better flavor, but more importantly, more balance.

Frittatas are not a great meal idea for your son, then. How about a black bean/frozen veggie stir fry? Still lots of protein in it, and pretty cheap.

I am in Canada and all the Dollar Trees I have been in unfortunately don't carry a lot of food products. I still use Larry's recipes just substituting for different brands because they are all delicious. Had never had biscuits and sausage gravy before seeing Larry make it and now it's one of my favorites.

Greetings from Los Angeles CA. Thank you for posting this video. I'm making this tomorrow (I just returned from the 99c store). They had bags of tiny cubed hash browns for 99c as a sub for the ones you used. I'm going to portion and freeze. Reheated with a spoon full of sour cream and hot sauce.

@@uglyjihad Where do you get this impression? Granted I've only seen him talk this way to chefs so I can't say about other groups of people, but when he criticizes chefs and people of the liking, they usually are expected to undergo training that prepare them with the skills necessary to succeed with restaurant owners, not the chef, typically be charged for the cost of ingredients. Even in his videos that teach skills and the how's of cooking, he acknowledges the real-life limitations people have when it comes to expenses and creates recipes that aren't hard on the wallet. Where I just moved from, we had no Aldis, and our Dollar Tree had no food. But we did have a discount grocery similar to Aldis called Ruler's. Sometimes we get caught up in names, and forget to look at more local, lesser known, options, for discount groceries. Hang in there, everyone, keep learning, let's do our best.

My tiny Dollar Tree has a refrigerated and freezer section. We are able to get eggs, hash browns and sausage, but I've never seen Rotel and the cheese available is plain and comes in dinky packages. I could make a non-spicy, non-cheesy version.
