There was a time when we had very little money, but my Christmas tree still looked beautiful and it was thanks to the dollar tree. I started building a gorgeous Christmas collection by waiting until after Christmas to buy the high end decor. I refuse to get rid of most of the dollar tree stuff. The tree and decor are absolutely gorgeous and looks like I’ve spent thousands but those ornaments remind us of how very fortunate we are now, and even for those blessings from back when we had very little

Dollar Tree used to carry black Santas. I have several that can used as an ornament or topper. Each one has a different costume and the object they carry varies.

I wish they would have more new ornaments or change the old ones. Lol Although there are a few. Tfs I like the snowman, gnome and the tag ones. I wonder if you could or how hard it would be to paint the Santa face? I guess the person St. Nicholas was that color He lived in Germany but I think he was from Turkey. But I guess if we just are talking fairy tale santa like dads dressing up as Santa he could be any color. Yeah they should have both I have cute little brown Angel's, They are adorable!

Putting out Christmas it's insane maybe they're trying to cheer everyone . Although last year I happened to be in Hobby Lobby ( which is very seldom) a few days before Fourth of July & they were stocking Christmas. It made me feel really old. Back in the 60's the stores & shopping started the week of Thanksgiving. Now we have Black Friday. Time rolls on & right over the Holidays.

For decades I used to go all out decorating my home inside and out for Christmas. Now that the kids are grown I will be keeping it at a minimum. I’ll have a small tree in my bedroom and put a Xmas wreath on my front door. Maybe I’ll do a festive table scape also. 🧐

just fyi they have to put the stuff out in time for people to see it and then decide to buy it or wait until they get paid etc and so it has to go out early enough for that and since the economy is bad they are hoping that giving more time people will be able to buy what they usually would. its not to stress you out i promise :) also good luck with the blue skies!

FYI the rake, pile, leap green candle smelled so good at DT but when i burned it at home the throw is almost zero! I realized they were made by luminescence and not the old Williamsburg Co. or whatever’s it’s called that they also sell at DT in the mini mason jar... so buyers beware !

Your right they do need more brown Santa’s and elves. I was going to buy a case of brown elves and all they have are Caucasian elves. I am Caucasian. But, I wanted a case of brown not white. Soooo. Now I have to travel around looking for these elves. Trust me I’m not going to look hard. I didn’t even need an entire case. I was going to donate the remaining. I put you on the big screen today to watch. I couldn’t get out this weekend and I plan on going to a couple tomorrow. A lot of nice stuff. And I did get two small elves that were brown for my tree from target. Went back and got two white ones to even it out. Both boy and girl sets. You know I got on this subject like a hot pepper last year. Then you got some black Santa pillows at target and bam it all sold out. Lol. It was like watching a hockey game. Pretty crazy good!!!

My daughter and granddaughter are black. Close to 30 years ago I wanted to decorate for my child. Now it’s strange not to. And, I learned a lot about racism. It’s not that hard to make both colors. And the brown decor sells out the fastest. If, these stores really wanted a financial move they would get with the times.
