You need a paint brush & water. I believe the tip of that pen is made out of something that only works good on certain books. I love those Disney ducks. Hopefully I can find them.

Not All paint with water are created equal. The Bluey book just isn't as good a quality....but Dollar Tree also sells the water craft pens in the craft section.
