I have HONESTLY never seen a better car organizing video and i've seen a ton over the years. I have a college daughter and hubby's car, so I'm going to have them both watch your video, run to DT and make a beautiful organized car for all of our cars. Oh and I had to add... we always change diapers in the car too! Thought we were the only ones. Lol But I also liked the idea of adding a yellow shirt for emergencies. I do have a spare set of clothes for me in the car though. Mommy's shirt is a magnet for sticky toddler hands and snotty nose wipes! Lol

I don't know where you live, but in Florida where I am gets so hot that everything I leave in my car melts. I used to carry a hand sanitizer little bottle on my door, seems the liquid boiled or something because came out of the bottle (upright with tight cap on it) and went allover the door compartment. I'm afraid to leave anything now in my car except dry stuff like a towel or paper. I used to have a little brush to brush crumbs off the carpet, that also melted. I tell you Florida is hot. LOL

Naticris Tellavi, Same here, We cannot leave a lipstick or a hand sanitizer either. In summer it melts, in winter it freezes! And better not to leave any bags inside. They are magnet for thieves. It might be funny if it's a trash bag, but it's not funny if smb brakes into your car.

Those clips would have come in handy when my son was on oxygen and TPN. It was so hard to keep the cvl broviac tubing up above heart level in the car. Will pass this along to tpn and gtube friends.

Thanks Clara, honestly the most brilliant thing ever is the idea of putting your umbrella in that spot, right where you can reach it whenever it rains! For years I've kept my umbrella in the trunk which makes it soo difficult to get to it when it's pouring out- usually it's tucked behind whatever else is in my trunk so I dont even bother! I just realized how empty my car is.... I have my important papers (insurance/registration) a first aid kit, tool box (with booster cables tire iron wrenches screw driver flashlight,etc.) and extra jacket.

***** Oh thank you, Randelle! I'm glad to say that despite how flimsy it may look, it lasted throughout the Spring and Summer very well!!! Having the lid at the bottom and the tupperware container itself helps tremendously if you can find them (but you can always use a cardboard box too). :) tfw! ♥ Clara ♥

Something I've done for years is carry a bottle of Windex and roll of paper towels in my vehicle. Apart from cleaning my windows, I use the Windex to clean up any spills, wipe dust, etc., off my dash, and also to wash my hands. Spray Windex on my hands and wipe off with paper towels. I much prefer it to hand sanitizer because it's more of a "wash" for my hands than just some gel.

I posted this on my facebook to share I used to prep everything like this when I had young children. Other than possibly road flares, an emergency triangle and tweezers and nail clippers (both which you probably have in your purse already) I can't think of anything to add. I do like the quick car wipes they have at dollar tree too.

What a great idea for those iPad covers! Going to have to make a Dollar Tree run! Lol Two quick tips... keep your cell phone in the center console. In an accident your phone can go flying. Don't want a missing or broken phone then. Also be careful with leaving hand sanitizer in the car. When it gets hot in the car it heats up quick! The outside of the container won't feel hot but put the sanitizer on your hands and OUCH! Learned that one the hard way! I now keep it in my purse and diaper bag only. Also, I saw an idea for a car trash can I'm going to try. They used the cereal container so that there is a lid to keep smells in but it still has that wide lift up flap for easy trash disposal. I got two so we have one for recycling as well :)

EXCELLENT points!!! I love it!!!! I already have hand sanitizer in my bag/diaper bag, but think what I'll end up doing as it gets super hot is I'll switch over to containers that have to capability to be hooked onto the outside of my keys, that way most of the time I don't have to reach into my bag with a germy hand to get the hand sanitizer. I ordinarily don't like to do that, but I definitely see your point about scalding hand sanitizer! And good point about the phone - I was in a major car accident recently (I talk about that a few videos ago) and my car was totaled, but somehow my phone stayed put. The way I was lying I wouldn't have been able to get into my center console anyway, but I agree that if you are in a roll over accident, the phone would be better kept in there. In any major accident like that I really should try to stay still anyway and let people around me help and access the phone for me (I was unconscious shortly after and the police office got it for me). I love your ideas; thanks for sharing! :)

This was a great video since I have the exact same car!! I like where you put your lip gloss storage bag. A thought... I got an ALLRELI magnetic phone holder from Amazon that is perfect for phone mounting to the right of the instrument panel. That way my phone does not block the air flow from the vents. I also use a small, narrow drawer organizer in the small space under the instrument panel for change.

Just a FYI. You have nice leather seats. Try putting a cute blanket under the car seat and the leather underneath will still be nice and new. Car seats can eventually destroy leather seats!

I recommend BagPodz. It looks like a tiny duffle bag and holds 12 strong nylon grocery bags. It has a carabiner clip that I attach to the headrest of the passenger seat or clip to the grocery cart. I believe I bought it on Amazon. It takes up far less space than the typical reusable grocery bags. I also keep 2 emergency blankets in the car. They have many uses...blanket, tent, can repel heat or retain it. It comes in a very, very thin package about the size of my hand. It can be kept in a glove compartment.

If you're hung upside down or your seatbelt locks up, you're screwed. Get some mounting tape and tape your tool to the inside lid of your console and then get a small ResQme keychain window punch tool and put it on your keychain. Also, I cannot overstate enough.. scissors. Mount some in with your emergency tool.

However, rather than using your regular car floor mats for putting under your tires, if you are stuck on ice etc, I would get some carpet remnants from a carpet store or from an old carpet. The reason for this is that the friction from your tires as they spin while trying to get the car unstuck, marks and can tear and even burn the carpet beneath its wheels.
