I really wanted to thank you for sharing information about the frames for pictures and other clever design ideas... BTW ~ folks who have a lot of money will often build their homes like a lot of dollhouses are... but just like in your dollhouse, we can build a world of our own design! 😊

I love the family photos. The women in your family are so beautiful with stunning bone structure. The men are also very handsome, now we know where your natural beauty comes from. The detail in those frames is incredible. What a truly achievable result this method gives. Time to look for molds! I'm so grateful for this tutorial, I was wondering how you made those intricate beautiful frames. I'm grateful even more for another glimpse into your family history. Your grandmother and mother were both so beautiful, and I love seeing these old black and white photos. I'd say you definitely look like your mom. The photos do look great in the vintage looking frames. I've got some liquid sculpey I've yet to try, now I've gotta find some molds!

Yes I totally understand the value of old pictures. We have lost many pictures over the years...tears. These pictures in the Dollhouse will ALWAYS be on display. When I'm gone they will be a Part of this Collection 🙂. These Pictures are safer in my Dollhouse than where I found them in box in someone's basement.

@@littlegretchensworkshop7665 I do think it's a wonderful way to display the photos so they can be appreciated. It's just that your skill level exceeds my own. I always seem to cut wonky and get glue in the wrong place. For those like me, practicing on copies is a good idea. Obviously, you can pull it off with the originals, because they turned out great. 😊

Wow I'm surprised the baked clay is still flexible!! That's great. Very attractive photos of very attractive family. I've seen someone use these molds to put hot glue inside, and then paint the result, but hot glue doesn't hold up over time as well I Don't think.

You know, no real house is historically correct. Homes start simple and build up over time, adding all kinds of furniture, pictures and knick knacks that reflect the changing ages of the family members and the new people who join the family. Your house is really authentic. ❤️

💖 I have the same molds..and I have used air dry clay in the past which is pretty simple after you get the hang of it..but there are a few tricks to make it easier...the liquid clay is a much simpler way... there is a bit more work with a solid clay.. I just recently tested out resin for the frames...the resin took triple time to cure and was still wet on the inside and that was bc the mold is not clear...I haven't painted them yet and the resin is clear so its hard to tell how well they turned out.. I will have to give the liquid sculpy a try..🤔 maybe I will try that next time...I do a black base and use a dry sponge stamper to highlight the details with Metallics and that works out lovely... and now that I just got my new fav.. metallic antique copper ..I most certainly will be painting some with that! This was great to see your way of creating the same frames bc you showed me how to use a medium I didnt think to try...🥰 Thank You for sharing! Always Learning something Great!!

VERY Informative! I've used dollar store Air Dry clay in these silicone molds, and once they're cured and painted they become quite durable. Even so, the air dry clay is by its very nature, more fragile than liquid polymer clay, so I'm definitely going to have to give that product a try out, too- a GREAT tutorial!

This was really interesting. I made over 100 frames for a house whose sole purpose was to display pictures of women who rebelled against 19th century standards for womens' lives. I made mine out of epoxysculpt using the same molds you did. I have never used liquid polymer clay in this way. How long did you have to bake them for? Thanks for the new method.

I have used the air dry clay for other projects and its very cheap - the liquid clay looks easy but for one ounce only at $8, might be a bit spendy.

I totally agree! I use the liquid clay because of the flexibility! The walls in this Dollhouse are not completely flat so a little flexibility is needed for this project. Thanks for the air dry clay suggestion!
