On her 2008 “Backwoods Barbie” tour, Dolly recorded a PBS special entitled “Dolly: Live in London O2 Arena” which was released in 2009 as a combination CD/DVD called “Dolly: Live From London.”
"I Will Always Love You" is a song written and originally recorded in 1973 by American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton. Her country version of the track was released in 1974 as a single and was written as a farewell to her former partner and mentor of seven years, Porter Wagoner, following Parton's decision to leave The Porter Wagoner Show and pursue a solo career.

She wrote this song for Porter Wagoner who gave her the first big break by hiring her to sing on his Grand Old Opry Show. She stayed for 7 yrs. They both loved each other but fought a lot over their music. When she left the show in 1974 to further her career she wrote this song as a way of showing Porter that her leaving didn't mean she would stop loving him. She kept her promise to always love him and was at his bedside , holding his hand and singing this song to him when he passed away in 2007, age 80 yrs.
