One of my best memories as a young mother was seeing my 6 year old daughter’s reaction the first time she heard Dolly singing “Coat of Many Colors”. We were in the car and the song came on the radio. She was so quiet, listening intently and moved to tears before the last note played. Now, 33 years later, I can still see my sweet child’s empathy when those children made fun of Dolly’s rag coat of many colors. Thank you Lord, for the artistry of Dolly Parton.

I never really paid much attention to Dolly Parton, I knew her music but then I saw a couple of documentaries about her. One was about her career and the other was more about her life. One thing became very clear, she tries to hide it behind her personality and glitz but she is damn intelligent.
