Hello there Dave, Quite a pull up there from Dunmail Raise, I remember doing a leg from Kirkstone pass, to Dunmail Raise and back again, that climb on the return up that broken shattered path to Fairfield summit nearly put my lights out M8. Never a dull moment up there Dave like you said,always learning. As per usual you managed to crack me up again with your compressed sandwich trick. 😂 Keep 'em coming Dave,love watching your escapades and adventures in our glorious mountains and fells. Hey Dave, great to finally catch up with your channel, I've been very busy with family lately as you will understand, this is a great route , one I have walked and camped myself, although I was considerably more out of breath than you 🤣🤣🤣 Raise beck wasn't as deafening when I walked it 😳 Grizedale Tarn is a very serene place, I took the easy option and camped at the far end of the Tarn looking down the valley to st Sunday crag 🤣👌 I do fancy dollywagon myself sometime soon 😁 great views looking back on the way up 😍 but the views from the top WOW 😍😍😍 I may have said absolutely stunning a few times myself 🤣🤣🤣 looks like you got the Duomid pitched just in time 👌 oh no squashed sandwiches 😳🤣 shame the clag was still there in the morning, but that's just how it is sometimes 😢 great camp and video as always mate, catch you soon, atb Paul 🙏🏕️🏕️🏕️😁

Another enjoyable one, Dave, and you're right - even on the claggiest of days/ nights, there's always something to enjoy, memorable moments and things to learn. No time in the hills is wasted, even if you don't see a thing! And it's a darn sight better than being stuck indoors. The sarnies was pretty funny... moral of the story, look where you park your bum! And you'd be surprised how often your comments are helpful - I had been thinking about going up Fairfield via Grisedale Tarn but your remark about the zigzags clarified that might not be a good idea! Random question - have you ever camped in the valley above Rydal? Rydal Beck - the valley below the horseshoe. It tends to be really quiet as the path isn't that frequented and it tends to be really hard work getting onto the ridge but there are a few high spots which are good camp spots. A fairly sheltered valley too.
@TheSoloSummiteer2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Irene. Yeah, always good to get out, always things to learn and experiences to be had. I would have eaten the sandwich but it had tomato 🍅 on it which had been squashed into the bread; just a soggy mess 🥴. No, not camped above Rydal. I’ve walked up that way as part of the Fairfield Horseshoe. Take care - Dave
