This is some previously never uploaded footage from Dollywood #70 in 2004 and some already uploaded footage combined into one video. Also a rare shot of #71 outside the shop before she was dismantled.

107 Was also put on display because 1: What you said and 2: Its brakes were wood and caught fire and it was a runaway and they had to use one of the other engines to stop it. (They realy only had to derail it)
@baldwinloco123 жыл бұрын
If the engine was re built then it wouldn't have wooden brakes anyway, they would not be legal to use today. But it's highly unlikely to ever run again.

If I recall correctly, 107 was once involved in a boiler explosion in Chattanooga. Back then, she was number 419 for the ETV&G. The failure happened somewhere on the property that the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum now occupies, likely just past Whiteside Tunnel.

And here I was under the impression that 71 was the locomotive that arrived at the park with no boiler. Well then.
@SouRwy4501Productions Жыл бұрын
That was its sister engine 72 that came without a boiler. 72’s boiler was critically damaged after a fire in one of the engine houses. They scrapped 72’s boiler, but kept the rest of the locomotive. 72 is currently being used as a spare parts donor for 70.

71 was originally supposed to be a backup engine for 70 when they arrived to what would eventually be today’s Dollywood. I guess that since 192 is working as 70’s backup engine, 71 just isn’t needed. The only way that 71 could ever run again is if someone were to outright buy it.

As far as I know of, Southern railway 3 chimes are the only whistles that have their levers at the top. The way it sounds is very similar to the Rebel Railroad (Lenoir City cast) southern 3 chime after it was modified in 1995 to sound like 4501’s whistle.
