Thank you. We haven’t been there since the late 90’s and my mother wants to go one more time. So this helped her a lot. Brought back a lot of memories from my grandmother and father thank you so much for caring enough to show what it looks like these days.

Thanks for posting this my whole family just went to Dollywood they're there right now and I can't go. So here I am in my rocking chair ha ha and watching this video I've been there so many times and you have made it so I can go there right now. It takes the pain and the sting out of the fact that I cannot be with the people that I love in the place that I love. May God bless Dolly Parton for bringing such life and joy to all of us amen.

Tips from a frequent goer: •ALWAYS ASK FOR CUPS OF ICE WATER! Why pay 2 dollars for a bottle of water when you can walk to any snack stand and get free water all day? (Unless you prefer bottled water!) •He was right when he said wear comfortable shoes. There is a lot of hills and steep inclines in this park. I also recommend that if you plan to ride water rides, bring a change of shoes like sandals or flipflops. Believe me when I say that you will get wet! It has happened everytime I rode one. Where it is humid and you do a lot of walking, your feet will get blisters while they dry. •Always check the weather! This has happened many times: we go to Dollywood, it is sunny, a passing storm hits the park, and everyone leaves. If there happens to be a short spell of rain, go watch a show and wait out the crowds! Dollywood has plenty of shows to choose from and they are all wonderful! Usually people don't check the weather and leave at the first sight of rain. When the rain stops there are few lines, if any at all! •if you buy a single day pass, you can technically extend it for almost two days. What you do is go to the park after 3 p.m. If you do this, you will get in the next day free! Just be sure to present the same ticket at the front gate. Splash Country: •If you can buy a cabana, do it. They are a little expensive, but worth the few extra dollars. You have a shaded area with two chairs and a chest where you can keep your personal belongings locked up. •Same as Dollywood, if it rains, wait out the crowds. I remember one time specifically when a thunderstorm came through and lasted about 20 minutes. Our cabana was near the entrance and we saw hundreds of people leaving at once. Once the storm was over there were no lines and barely anybody there. •You can also ask for the cups of water at Splash Country. I hope this helps anyone who are curious about Dollywood and Splash! I'm about to be 17 and we have gone here at least once every year. I love this place and of all the theme parks I've visited, this has been my favorite. Southern Hospitality goes a long way. Be sure to wear sunscreen, take big spray, and hydrate. But most importantly....have a great time!

I remember when the whole park was that one long section (Slidewinder, the church, up to Tennesee Tornado.) It used to dead end at Blazing Fury which was the only thing back there. There was a cool mid size coaster added that Tennessee Tornado replaced. Also...I am old enough to remember when this park was Silver Dollar City. I just love Dollywood.

TwistleofMobius that theming has been there since the late 90’s. The 1950s area had no ride it’s also not a very big area. We go to Dollywood once a year and I remember when I was about 20 and I remarked that the 50s area needs a ride. Lo and behold eight years later they get lightning rod :)

I live near Pigeon Forge, and, visit Dollywood from time to time. Just a lil' fyi in the mid to late 80's maybe even early 90's that rocky cavernous area @ 18:01 was once called "The flooded mine!" it was about a five min ride with a max capacity of around 24 people in one run with a run about every 1 minute. hard to say why they axed it. Perhaps too many young romances. But omg the memories. Talk about a time machine! :)

You missed Dolly's Apartment and the replica of her two room home. Plus you didn't even mention that they still have places where you can watch brooms being made and horse shoes being made. It has a lot of old "Appalachia" roots. Plus the water trough going through the park is an example of how the power of water was used. If anyone does go eat at Granny's and definitely ride Blazing Fury!
