2024 -I’m on year five, worked it to death, at one point, it alone circulated my pool water for a month!. 25K gal inground. Bot then died this season, saw the behaviour, realized the cord fried, replaced it, then it worked fine. Then power unit died (shorted from rain water, my bad). So Replaced THAT online. So easy. My Poolbot is back on the job! This thing is tough, it does MY waterline (?), & it cost far less than half, to replace all the key components with new! I’m happy to stick with my poolbot. It works very well. And replacement parts are available and easy to handle. Saved myself $900 refurbing my original unit. Excellent.

I have a Dolphin Plus that I purchased on Amazon in 2016. It died a couple years ago and I took it partially apart to find that the swivel part of the power cord had failed. I bought a replacement part that is the piece that connects to the cleaner for around $60 and that got it going again. It failed again a couple days ago with the same issue but this time I would have to replace the entire cord because the swivel connector is a piece of garbage. Instead of replacing the cord I cut the swivel connector out, waterproofed the connection and it is running again. 😊

This is great info. I haven't yet taken my broken unit apart to find the cause. Thanks for your comment.

6 years and I’m here. Haven’t replaced any of the parts but have been taking it apart the past two years when the tracks and rollers came off alignment. Started well this season and now it’s not doing anything. Considering cutting my losses and getting a replacement

That is actually what I did. At least you got 6 years, mine only got 4 years of service. Thanks for the comment.

My unit will have the impeller spin briefly, but then it stops after the 15 seconds you've mentioned. But I'm doing this in the water. Now my water is in a really bad state. I'll try to get that back in balance first I guess.
@LandingZoneHome2 ай бұрын
Thats a good sign but a run in the water is needed to be sure. Thanks for watching.
@Bender24972 ай бұрын
@@LandingZoneHome I had my water tested today and it just needs a Pro-phosphate treatment, otherwise it's good. It won't run in the water. I took it to Leslie's for a free diagnosis. Edit: It does the 15 second impeller spin in the water while submerged and then it just cuts off.

Since you have two virtually identical units, try the old cleaner with the new power supply and vice versa to identify which unit has a problem. If the old cleaner won’t run with the new power supply, I would suspect the cable (in particular the swivel, the white cylinder on the cable). Search KZbin videos for info on troubleshooting and repair/replacement of swivels. The replacement cable for my M200 was less than $200 and wasn’t difficult to install.

I did swap the power supplys and both work fine. Thanks for the tips.

Wow I have to say that you guys in the US are so lucky a power cord for my 5 year old Maytronics would cost around $500 to replace! The 2 foam rollers on the front that it came with are over $350 per set! I haven't bothered to look for a good price of the 2 rubber tracks, which are very cracked and about to die as well . I'm better off replacing my entire unit. It's ONLY a couple of hundred dollars more, to buy a new robot!

If the out-of-water test you mention works, then what is the issue and recommended repair?
@LandingZoneHome5 ай бұрын
If that test works I would guess it is okay and will clean.

The connections in the swivel are probably starting to go bad. Disconnect the blue cord from the power supply, open up the swivel to check for corrosion and moisture. Clean the pins and circle circuit board with alcohol and a q-tip. Let it sit for a day to dry, and put it all back together. Try turning it back on out of water and see if the fan spins (power getting to the unit). If it works, trying keeping it out of the pool when not in use. When mine became corroded, and worked intermittently, sometimes turning it off, giving the swivel a little turn and powering it back on would help. Until it didn't anymore. But I got another year out of it. Finally had to buy a new cord but also got the 3yr extended warranty off Amazon because people in the comments said their new cords went back in just 2-10 months.

Did you try using new power box on old unit or new unit on old box?

Yes, the old power supply works fine with the new unit. When I get time I will take it apart and test the cable. Stay posted for that video, so please subscribe. Thank you for your comment.

In other bad news, Maytronics has done away with the non-Wifi CC Plus version, lots of my older customers don't want to have the hassle of hooking up to wifi, then having to schedule the running cycles thru their phone. I hate this as I recommended this unit to many of my customers to replace the overly priced always breaking down Polaris. Nice video.

Sorry to hear that, I just purchased a non-wifi unit last month from Amazon so maybe I got one of the last. Here is the link and it shows unavailable: amzn.to/3z5SHRJ

Mine did the same thing after exactly 4 years. I took it apart completely, and I found that the wires connecting between the cord and the circuit board were completely burned up. Very high resistance. I replaced these connections and she worked but I couldn’t find parts to do it right so I don’t know how long this repair is gonna last. But there’s obviously a problem in the design for this to be happening. The swivel connectors on these also go bad. Overall the design is not great.

Thanks for the tips. Four years seems to be a common failure point.

Mine died 3 times under warranty with same problem. It was “the cable” & Maytronics paid for the 3 repairs + new cable. It just died again.

You can check if cable is bad by checking continuity using a multi meter if its cable a replacment cable is 150-170 bucks or you might be able to repair if its a pin in the swivle. I found this video helpful, as far as replacing guide and drive wheels, but it has more detail than just that kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIOlY4GNoM5nb6s

My CC Plus no WIFI is not working and it’s less than 6 months old. I was expecting it to last at least 5 years. I purchased it from Amazon and now I have to take it to a repair shop almost 150 miles from my house since I’m liable for any damage to the unit during shipping and I also have to pay for the shipping to get it to the repair shop. Non of this information is list on Amazon or anywhere else before you buy the pool cleaner until you get it home and open the unit and read the instructions included in the box. I would have gone with another product or got one from a local store not Amazon and avoid this whole hassle of mailing heavy products and taking a chance on getting it damaged during shipping. Anyway, lesson learned and will not be buying anything like this from Amazon again. I hope this pool cleaner can be fixed by the repair shop and that repair will last enough years for me to actually use this unit and get my money back I’m spending on it right now. Very sad that products these days are so cheap and poorly made for such a high cost. This was $799 plus tax so it’s not cheap to buy. I hope this information is helpful for someone who may think about buying one.

The cord is the weak point of this unit. It is a poor design. The cord leaks.It won't last a season. It has nothing to do with the quality of the water.The swivel component of the cord is faulty.
@LandingZoneHome7 ай бұрын
Agree the cable is the weakest link to this device. When Maytronics told me water balance was the main reason units fail; I immediately knew that was a cop out! Thanks for your comment.

Wow… we now accept INFERIOR quality because when compared to paying someone else to do it, it’s cheaper. 🧐 It’s sad that companies calculate how to increase PROFITS more than they consider how to create QUALITY products. What can we do? People with pools are considered well able to afford these expenditures on low quality products.
@LandingZoneHome7 ай бұрын
Anything can break, especially electronics so the question becomes "how long do you expect something to last?" I really don't know how long these units should last and that is why I came up with the comparison of paying someone to perform the work of the robot cleaner. I may still be able to repair my broken unit and hopefully I'll find time to look into that soon. Thanks for your comment.
