The reason Dolphin makes sense to have on Steam is because it would be more accessible to everyone that uses Steam. The Steam Deck is not the only way to access Dolphin nor is it the only way to access Steam. Sadly though Nintendo has issued a DMCA take down to keep Dolphin off of Steam but I don't think it will hold up in court because having an emulator is legal. What is illegal is downloading the games. Nintendo is stating that Dolphin is circumventing their copy protection to make dolphin possible but seeing as Dolphin has been around for at least 10 years and hasn't had any issues with Nintendo up until this point I think it's pretty far fetched and that they are just trying to bully the dolphin devs because they want us to pay $300 for copies of Paper Mario on GameCube to randoms on the street. Either that or because GameCube is coming to NSO very soon.
