absolutely the best amp review ive ever seen. this guy went over the features, talked up the brand, its quality, sound. he went over several things like how your playing affects the sound that comes out. and he can actually play too. brilliant.
@erictoniaschwab100910 жыл бұрын
2:32 he's spot on. This amp has really made me a better player because I haven't been able to rely on multiple channels and foot switching. I have had to learn to use the volume and tone knobs. This amp is a very good sounding amp and you really have to learn how to use dynamics.
@powdercarver14 жыл бұрын
Great presentation! Thanks for the info and the examples of how tube amps and guitars work together in providing tonal range! Plus, the example of the difference in sound with just the volume knob had me at a standstill! thanks again!

Best amp I ever owned - sounds good soft or loud (yes you can drown the drummer out) makes a Strat sound like a Strat and a Les Paul sound like a Les Paul ! very dynamic amp
@nico_14 жыл бұрын
Bought this amp based on this video review. I ordered it via the local guitar shop and when I struck the first chord I knew this the best sounding amp I ever played.

Incredible amp! I tried one a few days ago and it sounded amazing!
@Shiinichi15 жыл бұрын
It can go pretty loud, loud enough to wake my neighbours up. Especially when you turn on the gain you can get a very very loud sound. But the clean sound is also very good and loud enough for me. I really love it.

I didn't know they came out with a 1x12" combo. What a great sounding amp! Love that compressed sound at 3:02! This amp sounds superb! I want one! Cool dude doing the demo! Right-on buddy!

the dark terror has an effects loop, it's awesome, has all the good tones of this and it has some brilliant metal tones when the gain is about 3 1/4 or more

just this saturday i tested one of these but just the head. with the cabinet of the dark terror, ith a PRS SE MIke Akerfeldt and it just sounded beautifully. you can really hear the valves working, and it amazing how quick they got heated. very nice combo. i am buying one for my self too.

Tone is in the fingers BUT it's so important to have gentleman like this who can play do these reviews so we can hear the capabilities of the amp. Unlike Rob Chapman and people like that who play like garbage so you have no idea what the gear can sound like
@GameLevelEditor13 жыл бұрын
This guy understands tone and wails tastefully.
@DJP119414 жыл бұрын
@bassnutter Actually, tone can be discussed and talked about among both lead and rhythm players. Tone is universal to guitar players, lead or rhythm. And I also think that crunch or attack can apply to chords or leads. So either way, tone, crunch, attack etc. can apply to lead and rhythm players.

I have both, the Tiny Terror Combo and Blackstar HT-5RS. The Blackstar has a foot switch between crunch and clean. Crunch has Volume, bass, middle, treble, and gain. Clean has Volume and Tone. Reverb applies to both channels. (Also has ISF Infinite Shape Feature - U.S. to U.K. tone) The S means Stack. Head unit and two 12" cabs. If the combo has Reverb and a foot switch....those are two big pluses in my book. I can't tell the difference between the U.S. and U.K. tone. Hope this helps!

@punkmusicmetal14 жыл бұрын
@punkmusicmetal SO another question, does the lack of 3-band eq set this amp back? I mean, it can obviously do high gain. But I think being able to have more tone control will make me choose the Vox AC15 or the Egnater tweaker combo. Those can give me a range of great sounds, rather one REALLY great sound...
@TininSkywithDiamonds14 жыл бұрын
that guitarist has really passionate feeling for playing

I've owned an Orange Duel Terror for a couple of years now and have experience with the tiny terror head, and I find that it's better then a Marshall, but it ultimately depends on what sound you want. Orange has a very tight, British sound to it and it's very full of tone, where Marshall amps are more of a classic American rock sound. I have, however, found that Orange has some of the best clean's around.

Mike Casswells guitar here is a 1989 Valley Arts custom pro.
@codyt515 жыл бұрын
Like nickdohle said, it is best to try it out yourself in person with your own guitar, and see which one inspires you the most. They are both awesome amps. The Blackstar HT-5 is more versatile, but it is only 5 watts. The Orange Tiny Terror only has 3 knobs/controls, but it is 15 watts so it may work better if you plan to play live with a drummer. Hope that helps!

Hi, great review. Can u make a revitew of the Orange Crush CR35 LDX ( w/effects )?? I know that is a low range transistor amp, but seems to be a great practise amp. Thanks.

this guy makes me remember of Lieutenant Dan from Forrest Gump, when he is with big hair... i must get one of this amp! just one tone control... gotta love that!
@squarefrog15 жыл бұрын
Do the tiny terror combo's have speaker outs on the back? Or is the cabinet hardwired to the amp.
@punkmusicmetal13 жыл бұрын
This is a great amp. The tone is amazing cranked, and you can play it in a bedroom. Not for gigging though, trust me. Unless your playing in a blues jam or something or another. If you're playing anything modern or loud, not the amp for you. Not good clean though either. With humbuckers, even on low volumes you'll get a nice growl, but not so good if you want pristine cleans.
@FesteringGhoul15 жыл бұрын
actually im buying a crush orange amp. 15 watts. although its 15 watts, it can get just as loud as my 150 watt fender amp that i have. sure its probably not good enough for a HUGE gig or whatever but it can be heard over drums. very nice amp. i havent played the tiny terror yet but looks about the same.

Hey, anyone know how the AD5 sounds like? i'm deciding between that and the Tiny Terror. Since they both dont have a 3 band eq, and I need smaller wattage, I thought I might as well jsut get the AD5. Plus its cheaper. any ideas?
@jeffhasnolife14 жыл бұрын
Sounds great, but even though 15 watts of pure tube may be loud for a combo amp, I don't know if I'm buying that you could use this thing for gigs.

2 QUESTIONS:...#1: will the 1x12 version of this combo be loud enough to play on its own with my 6 piece band with no mic? ( i expect not.) #2 if in fact it isn't loud enough, can i run the combo 1x12 version here through my 4x12 cabinet? i know i will lose some celestian sound, cause my speakers suck, but if i need to play out doors with em, thats how im hopin to do it. ... basically my question is, can i use this combo as a head if i have to?
@bengrockson14 жыл бұрын

I love this amp, talk about bang for your buck and in more than one way too lol...My son plays the TT and you can get great gain or dial it back and roll you volume back and get some good clean tones. He gigs with a TT head and a 2X12 cab and it's plenty.

Is this amp loud enough to play with in a band without miking it up? And I'm a little worried it has to much distortion if you crank up the volume, even if gain is turned all the way down, should I be?

I have a Bc Rich Warlock Bronze Series and i'm looking for an amp good enough for metal . Would the Tiny Terror be adequate ? I'm looking for a sound like Lamb of God For example but Mesa Boogie are quite expensive...
@GrumpyCameron12 жыл бұрын
@aussiesteveable It's actually quite loud and useable for a small gig. Check out my Tiny Terror review to see it in the studio through a few different guitars, as well as playing a small jam, so you can hear how it fits. I had a lot of leftover head room, but it was so loud where I was standing. Also, had it on the 7 watt setting for the live performance w/o a mic.

Go play both. Dont choose until you have played on both. That would be your best choice. You can hear everything on youtube about how both sound but it wont be the same with your settings and guitar. So go test out both and have fun
@311allmixedup15 жыл бұрын
It is underbiased in 15w mode I think. I have this amp and it doesnt sound just right because i have shitty speakers in an ampeg cab but this sounds good on here.

@RCbeastly He clearly turned the guitars volume up higher than it was before
@0liverWhite10 жыл бұрын
Does anyone know if one can play jazz on this? The "funk" he was using on there sounded pretty ultra clean, I think this is just an amp that can do a whole shitload of different things from what it sounds like it just has that ability to turn into a beast.
@MaggaraMarine10 жыл бұрын
You can play whatever you can play. There's a gain knob so you can control the amount of distortion. What styles you can play on which amp depends a lot more on the player than the amp itself. Of course certain amps are better for certain genres (for example if you needed lots of distortion, your first pick wouldn't be a Fender Twin, same as if you needed a great clean tone, your first pick wouldn't most likely be a 5150). If you want ultra clean tones, I don't know if this is the right amp. I mean, it's only 15 watts. It may not stay clean enough at higher volumes. You may want to get something with more power.
@0liverWhite10 жыл бұрын
MaggaraMarine Thanks :) It did turn out alright

@simpleheartedskater So... Could you possibly explain how to add reble , highen the basses , or boost mid frequencies with the help of only your hands ? Oh wait, you can't . Thank you sir , I'm now removing the bass mid and treble nobs from my amp, since i can do what they do with MAH HANDS. ^ ^ | | Sarcasm | Right there !

hi guys, im looking to buy my first "proper" amp. i need something versatile and under £1000. so far im torn between the blackstar ht-20 and the orange dual terror. i know its all subjective blah blah, BUT STILL, what do you think would be better?
