I love this amp. It's on every one of my records. I pair it with a Big Muff, a Superfuzz, or a Swollen Pickle and get some beefy tones out of it. I keep wanting to replace it with something that's dual channel (maybe the TH30), but it'd be very difficult to give up what this amp does.

@belligerentamateur it also delivers great with a DS-1 as a booster (low dist, cranked tone and level), just got a TT and sounds glorious. My only gripe is that, in the same setting you used at 3:45, the amp sounds almost muted, which is kinda weird.
@jrlee243
@jrlee243 2 жыл бұрын
I love my OR50. It has a what they label as a punch dial. I think it's just a presence knob, but I could be wrong. But use my mud killer and dial it all the skinny knob all the way, and it tightens it up pretty good. I also do the same with my Genz Benz Diablo 100. That one is a lot more frustrating to dial in. It acts like a active EQ, when change anything with mids,highs, or lows it drastically changes everything. They need a college course on how that amp operates. But when you get it there it sounds awesome. My favorite sound is to track my OR50 then my Engl Savage 1, and just bring in the orange to taste. You get that tight response from The Savage but the thickness of the orange. I also own a few of their cabs as well. I like a lot, I think they are great cabs. The DR Z cabs with the v30 mixed with a cream back sounds good to me to. Glad to see some orange on your channel. You always have a bit of everything. Dig it brother, Good job.

Edwards make amazing guitars, that Custom is a beauty. If that's the model with a JB in the bridge then that explains how much gain you get out of it with the knob at half. Some really good sounds out of that little box, I have a Dual Terror and you really captured the Terror sound very accurately. It's definitely a killer punk rock amp, just turn it up and go, rolling back your volume for cleaner stuff.

I got a Jim Root Terror recently and I've been having a similar experience with it. Good amp but when you boost it, all the low end dissappears and you need to almost dime the bass knob and gun the volume to get it back. Still a great amp but it don't hold up against my bigger 50-100watt amps that have resonance controls or just a lot of low end(i.e. Recto).

@@belligerentamateur Hey so I want to go ahead and retract my statement. That Jim Root Terror has a fuck ton of low end, you just really need to crank the volume up and there it is. I think it might have more low end than any of the other terror amps as long as you play it too loud for bedroom use.
@joshdeal575

@@SapperRJMorgan I never owned them at the same time so, hard to say cause I never got to do a back to back comparison. I’d say the OR was a little more “classic” in its gain structure.
