Signing a QB isn't solely based off of what they've already done. Their projected value and success is a big part. Tua's arrow is up and his two years under Mike has had him in the MVP conversation late into both of those years. Just because the team hasn't closed out some of those tough games, doesn't mean they aren't capable of it. Man, I have been a dolphins fan since Dan Marino and I suffered through many losing seasons since Marino left. We finally make the playoffs back to back because of Tua. Justin Herbert is getting paid on future potential. We the only team that played the chief at there home in the playoffs and that inhuman weather, and they the champs with home court advantage. Our defensive stars where all injured. Patrick beat Josh Allen at Bills Stadium, and Lamar Jackson at Ravens Stadium to get to the superbowl . But some of the dolphins fan expected Tua to go to the chief stadium and beat Patrick who’s one of the greatest QB in the history of the game with no defensive help in there stadium. Pay Tua.

“You have to have value at that position” except that almost all of the Super Bowl winning teams since the rookie wage scale- *didn’t* have a QB on a cheap deal. They were all paid except for Mahomes first SB and I feel safe considering him an outlier. The Fins don't have a known replacement if they don't pay him and the market dictates what you pay him. Other lesser QBs will be getting close to that same value. An average QB is starting in the 30 mil range, so he has to be paid above someone like Baker.

The market is all about timing and leverage- There's ALWAYS mediocre QB's getting paid big time because of this! I dont agree with paying TUA 50m+ but it's going to happen! What really hurt us, is the 1st and the 3rd RD pick's that were taken away from us! that was our "tua insurance" policy. I totally believe had we had that- We dont pick up Tua's 5th year option and we move up- and package those picks to grab a QB in this years draft..(maye, penix etc)..We gotta pay Tua now because we're smack dab in the middle of a newly rebuild.
