Dolwyddelan Castle Reconstruction

Despite being a smaller fort, Dolwyddelan Castle was strategically built on top of a hill overlooking the lowlands and deter invaders.

First, do not let my comment distract from the wonder you have achieved in recreating Dolwyddelan. Congratulations, it is gorgeous! Second, I notice below you say you are going to revisit the animation. At that point, may I put forward the suggestion that you remove the trees around the castle. Whilst it looks beautiful, no castle owner/castellan in any time period would allow trees that close as they provide cover for the enemy.

Very interesting. Can I ask what period is your reconstructed meant to depict? You've includes victorian alterations to the main tower, yet included a the tower that had fallen by the time those alteration were made. You've also missed known medieval details, so it isn't that period. I've really been looking forward to seeing this, but now find it confusing.

Thanks for the comments. This is purely an artistic impression. The reference we used was CADW's official illustration. If you look at ''dolwyddelan castle reconstruction'' in google, you will find images that show what we have done in 3D. This was also one of the first castles and we did not spend an awful lot of time on this as we had other priorities but, as with Criccieth Castle, we will come back to Dolwyddelan at some point and improve it.
