Sharif Brown he deserved the 2017 MVP over Westbrook. Harden averaged 29/11/8 on way better efficiency and led his team to 55 wins which was the 3rd seed in the West. Westbrook averaged 30/10/10 on worse efficiency and led his team to 47 wins which was 6th in the West. Harden clearly had a greater impact, won more games. And Harden beat Westbrook and the thunder in 5 games in the 1st round.

It was the fact that only 2 years prior, Russell Westbrook won it against Harden under the same argument that lost Harden the race in 2019. The media clearly adjusted their standards to avoid giving it to Harden. Curious you didn't mention the 50+ games that saw either Cp3, Capela, Gordon, or a combo of any of them missing that season, yet the Rockets were a game away from being 2nd in the West.

Harden's historical performances and averages, and how good the Rockets' season ended up being thanks to him, that's what's deserving of the "MVPs". -2015 Curry because of the surprise -2016 there was no shot at touching Steph -2017 Russ and him were head to head all year, so it could've gone either way -2018 He won finally -2019 his numbers were so much better than anyone else, but Giannis was the closest to having ridiculous numbers and the Rockets simply didn't have the same success as 2018

People like to say harden deserved it in 2015 and 2017 but honestly he didn't really deserve either of those. He DID deserve 2018, which he won, and you could argue he deserved it last year over giannis but I'm actually not mad giannis won, so at best harden has been snubbed once, and you could easily argue he's never been snubbed and argue he's never lost one he's actually deserved over someone else

But considering how James led his team to almost 10 more wins while the stats were pretty much identical, James definitely should've won the 2017 MVP

@@ajdaking507 honestly your argument for 2015 is good I'm not mad at it, for 2017 tho I'm just gonna post what I sent in another thread cause I don't feel like typing it all up again so here it is: harden didn't deserve mvp over Westbrook in 2017, Russell had the literal definition of backpacking his team the entire season, I don't care about the triple doubles (even though they're highly impressive) the thunder were absolute dogshit without Russell on the floor getting outscored by a laughable amount whenever he wasn't on the court, the rockets were still outscoring teams when harden went to the bench, just by not as much (which comes down to dantoni vs billy Donovan). I have never seen anything like 2017 where Russell almost had to spoonfeed his team buckets AND lead the league in scoring (and hardens percentages were BARELY better that year), and Russell was the most clutch player in the league over the second half of the season leading multiple comebacks and hitting clutch game winner after game winner. I will agree harden deserved it in 2018, and while I'm not mad at giannis winning last year, if I had a vote I'd have given it to harden last year too. But harden definitely don't deserve 2015 or 2017 in my honest opinion
