This is one of my all time fav Cab Francs from one of my all time fav CF producers! Had a 2012 recently that was to die for 🤤

It is a double whammy! Great wine and great producer! I've not had this with that much age, I would be very curious to see how it evolves, particularly with the varying degrees of whole cluster used. Thanks, as always, for your comments and support, Tom! 🙏❤

It might not make difference in terms of taste, but it makes difference in terms of being cool and sexy. This is as much of a cool story as the Basque Cabernet Franc from Jean Claude. Hope you find the right format to share one of your 3-day wine experiences.

Thank you for your comment, Diego! You're totally right, the ungrafted bit does bring an emotional element to the wine, even if it doesn't make a difference in terms of taste. Just like the wine from Basque Country, as you said! Maybe one day there will be a Cab Franc Chronicles 2.0 experience that will allow folks to experience a wine with me over a few days. You may have given me an idea for future. 🤔 It's just a question of how to do it. Thank you, as always, for taking time to watch and share your thoughts. Your support and enthusiasm is appreciated, Diego! 🙏☺❤

I love Thierry Germain’s wines. I’ve had the 2015 and 2016 Franc de Pied and a few other cuvées he makes. I hope I can find some more Franc de Pied sometime soon. Allison, what do you think the optimal drinking window is for the Franc de Pied? - Nicolas

Hi Nicolas! Thank you for your comment and question. I'm glad you've had a chance to try Thierry's Franc de Pied! In terms of the drinking window, that's a great questions. As I may have mentioned in the video, I do think the Franc de Pied is one of Thierry's wines that starts to enter a good drinking window a little earlier than others, and can show well from release. That said, while it does depend on the vintage, I think 5 to 15 years from vintage date is a conservative estimate. The wine probably can age longer than that, but it is just a question of how you like to enjoy your wines. A friend recently had a 2012 Franc de Pied and said it was excellent. Hopefully that helps! Thank you for taking time to watch the video, and for your comment! 🙏❤

Thank you! I had the 2015 vintage this past summer in Paris. It was drinking very well at 8yrs old!
