Some of you have commented that you would have liked me to give a solid opinion on which bike, well the reality is none of these bikes really gets me that excited and ticks all the boxes. Or perhaps it's just that deep down I would probably prefer a traditional sort of road bike. So I've given this more thought and this is my recommendation: If you want a full blown endurance bike, get the Trek Domane. If you want a simple light bike with some endurance concessions, get the Canyon Endurace. If you enjoyed the video and found it helpful, please hit the like button, subscribe to the channel and please share the video on all your social media.

I’m enjoying the bike so far kzbin.infoUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

The defy is the more balanced bike of them all. Today in 2022 Roubaix Paintjob is boring, trek is still heavy, Cannondale and Canyon have no endurance features, and giant has cool colours now! Só i think today is Giant and second trek.

I bought the Defy Advanced Pro 2 last October after riding a 15.5 lb race bike. Goal was to get more comfort in my sore back. Price was $4300USD and there were only two in the US in my size. Luckily drove one state over to purchase. It feels fast, definitely more comfortable, disc breaks are better when wet conditions, and what surprised me most was 32mm tubeless adds a lot of comfort. You also get 11-34 in back so you can practically ride up steps. Vanity wise, the color is awesome, rosewood. I get frequent compliments.

3:05 - When the Specialized Roubaix was introduced in 2004, it never had any wins at Robaix, so it does not get its name "from the 'impressive wins over' the cobbles of Roubaix", but simply for "the cobbles of Roubaix". And who at Trek came up with that silly in-frame storage compartment? It makes frame construction complicated and expensive, it provides many additional spots for frame failure, and wrapping up your stuff in that pouch so it sits inside the frame without rattling, is so much more inconvenient compared to just stuffing your things in your Jersey pockets. And, when almost every company uses its own BB measurement, how can you call it "standard"?

Get any bike with just a solid frame. All features including moving parts or storage compartments add to being prone to failure. So, if it has to be one of the feaured bikes, get the Cannondale or the Giant. The Canyon admittedl does not look bad, but their customer support is not worthy of that name.

Nice start, but I was disappointed in several things. Bike weights are great, but I think most people concerned about it want comparisons on frame weights, not the entire bike which usually is dragged down by the variety cheap or mediocre wheels these manufacturers saddle the bike down with from the LBS. the groupos weight the same, but it’s the seatpost and wheels ( which many people immediately upgrade) which shave off lots of weight. I just picked up a Salsa Cutthroat GRX for instance, and despite it being almost $4k, the wheels weighed almost 2200 grams.

I own the Canyon Endurace CF SL 7 featured in this video. I am very happy with it but I can also confirm the poor quality control during assembly. In my case the limiting screws of the front derailed weren't set at all and the chain dropped on the first shift (luckily in the bike stand). Also the bar tape was not wrapped very good. Canyon sent me a 80 € gift card after complaining about the issues. After 2 years and about 4500 km, I can say, that I am very happy with the bike. Everything works fine. I upgraded recently to a Zipp 303S tubeless whilst, which is a great addition to the bike.

Any suggestions for a $2000-$3000 range endurance/gravel bike that runs on 105 or GRX? As nice as those options are, such as Domane and Defy, they just don't have many options when it comes to aluminum frames. Frame wall thickness will be thicker for durability and Joe Public's abuse. The race frames are thinner and lighter. It was 531 vs 753 in the seventies. The good 531 bikes of the seventies were about the same weight as these bikes, and had frame flex for comfort.

I'm making a shortlist for my next bike. I'm looking at: Domane, Defy, Endurace and Synapse. I keep flitting between them all..... My 'main' bike is a BMC Team Machine SLR02, so, I have my 'fast bike', however, I don't want a slow second bike.... I love the Domane, but reviews say it's at the sluggish end of the ride spectrum, and it appears to be crossing over onto gravel territory. The Canyon seems perfect, but it's not as smooth as the others. The Giant is edging it...but....it's a bit fugly around the head tube.The Synapse, seems fast and comfortable, but its just not appealing to me as much. The 'big brands' are so expensive compared to the likes of Canyon and Cube (I was also considering the Agree C2).

@einundsiebenziger5488
@einundsiebenziger5488 3 жыл бұрын
A so called endurance bike is supposed to have a more relaxed geometry than a traditional road bike. At the same frame size an EB has a taller head tube and shorter top tube to give you a slightly more upright seating position. Fun thing is that the riders with the greatest endurance, professional bike racers, ride traditional, aggressive-geometry road bikes. So the destinction "endurance" is pretty silly.

You want to find a bike with the largest stack measurement, this will mean the bars are higher for a more upright riding position. You can use geometrygeeks.com to compare stack of different bikes. @Steve King 105 groupset is plenty unless you have the budget. I've got 105 and DA Di2 bikes and the current 105 is pretty good. Probably domane and defy would make a good gravel option. Maybe shop around and get a defy with ultegra for less than the Domane

@@happydays8171 The Giant could be good-looking if it wasn't for the totally failed cable routing from the bar to the frame. And it looks much better than the current Specialized Roubaix.

yeah I got one last year and it's heavier than my 15 year old aluminium lightweight bike - but it's not a lightweight bike and it leaves the old one for dead, feels light to ride but heavy to pick up.

Thanks for the video. Been looking at the new Domane for a few months now, seems like the right option. 105 is the best value IMO too.

I think so. I've got durace Di2 and the new 105 r7000 as well. 105 is plenty. Better things to spend money on (food, heating etc) 😏

Tire clearance is king for me as a 215 pound rider but I don't trust the moving parts on the Domane and Roubaix. These will likely make annoying noises - maybe not in year one but down the road. Canyon does not ship to Canada so I am outta luck with them. I'm left with the Synapse and the Defy. Both have quality products, decent tire clearance and no gimmicks. I prefer the Defy for its look, reliability and durability.

Defy gets attention only because of Giants marketing strategies and paid rewievs. But in reality, its an average bike with frame made of cheap carbon.

Should be very similar to the carbon one I imagine, perhaps a bit heavier and maybe not quite as comfortable. Maybe check out the aluminium Canyon as a comparison too.

Got the domane and have done two 200km rides on it. Comfortable as you like and you don’t really notice the extra weight. It’s almost 2kg heavier than my other bike but it climbs just as fast.

Everyone data the same. How is isospeed on the front? Is it odd?
@mariconor242
@mariconor242 2 жыл бұрын
@@mpereirawolf The isospeed is the best bit of the bike, I cannot even tell its there. However since I posted this comment I've been trying to lower the weight as it is slower climbing due to the extra weight. So I've gone GRX 1x, added lightweight carbon wheels and Deda finishing kit. Lighter is definitely much better! However, it is still wonderfully comfortable, especially with the 700*30c tyres. I might go 28c to reduce weight further.

I mean also very light. The way the tyres fiz to the wheels allows to use smaller sizes but creating a bigger volume
.. Ride Endurance bikes. But they are all so different. 🤷‍♂️
