Of course he wasn’t fully innocent and then acting confused. Classic chasing after the honeymoon stage here which is why she’s more focused on the “good parts” of him and smiling. The cycle consists more than just violence but also emotional and mental damage to the victim. Sadly victims are more likely to get killed if they leave (particularly higher within the first year of leaving) especially if there’s a pregnancy or children involved or family either is isolated or the victim has a monster family that would betray her. If she doesn’t try to leave now she will be putting another life in danger when that child is born. She needs to be planning in secret (never EVER tell an ab8ser you are leaving or go near them without a cop) to get away from him and document what he’s done. Sadly judges can side with ab8sers and either let children be pawns or send them to their deaths. So victims have to use a third person to avoid getting murdered during exchanges. He’s not a decent enough cretin to just send child support checks or revoke his parental rights so he doesn’t put the child in danger. The child should not grow up normalizing this ab8se and disfunction.
