First it should be gender neutral as domestic violence is not the wrong which can be done by any specific gender. Further, this criteria of granting compensation based on richness of husband promotes, marry rich, get rich, I. E. Windfall gain, sound absurd as women woh is living in juggi if suffers a violence will get few thousand but who marry an nri will get 3.5 crore on being called second hand. It is not a Maintainence, depending upon living standard. This is taking back to system, marry a rich groom.
