Thanks for the videos, now I know that thing fits perfect on my little forest fireplace for a weekend camping and I can leave the shovel at home!

Kevin, when you said you were going to show us how to use the toilet, I thought oh God, here we go, he's going to drop his pants! One thing I need to chastise you for, and set an example for the kiddies, was wash your hands afterward! I only open the bowl valve after the deed. Snipping one off over an open slosh pit could end up with splashback! I remember a Lady on a Pioneer Coach toilet years ago with half her dress all purple from a tidal wave in the tank. I'll never forget that!

Hahaha, no one want a purple tidal wave coming out of the toilet, thanks for the laugh Shaker4x4. We did request that Kev keep his pants on for this video... he didn't have any objections to this. ~ Ben

Is there any way to stop the pump making a noise like a sick seal when you pump up the pressure?

This is the first I've heard of this sorry, Michelle, I don't reckon there is anything you'll be able to do. Other viewers may have some suggestions based on experience. ~ Ben

What’s the difference between the Dometic models? I’m

They all essentially do the same thing, Branson, the differences are in their volumes and dimensions. ~ Ben

Noticed that you have demos for several thetford and dometic portable toilets - can you offer an advice for choosing one over the other?
@SnowysOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
There's probably three factors to consider here, Paul. Firstly - Dimensions. Consider if you have any space constraints with where you want the toilet to fit, or if you prefer a higher seat, they all vary a little width, height and depth. Secondly - Capacity. The models with larger holding and flush tanks will require less maintenance than those with small tanks, if it's a long time between sullage points then larger tanks may be preferable. Thirdly - Pump Type. This is an ease of use factor, the bellows pumps are not as user-friendly as the piston pumps, and some feature a piston/button combination. That's pretty much it, there's nothing overly complicated about them, and at the end of the day they all do the same job! ~ Ben

Excellent thanks for the feedback. I think I can make an educated decision on holding capacity and dimensions but can you comment on bowl size and depth comparing the Thetford 345 or 365 to the dometic of a similar size? I have heard the Thetford curve has a nice bowl size but I am leaning more towards a manual flush for simplicity so can you recommend another option? This is going into a sprinter van for semi regular use.
@SnowysOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with the Thetford Curve, it looks like a larger version of the toilets we sell with similar height to a regular toilet. The bowls look pretty similar between the Thetford and Dometic toilets in our range. If you are looking for something larger like the Curve then I'd suggest the Thetford 165 which has a basic bellows pump, or the 365 which is the same toilet only with a piston pump and tank level indicator. I hope this helps. ~ Ben
