Dometic Boracay TC 301 Tent Review Video 2024

Bought this tent (I think from Atwoolls) and used it 4 times last season up here in Northumberland on camping club sites and booked up for this season on 5 sites. I usually book in for 6-9 nights each time. I bought this tent after considering buying a second hand touring van. I say this to justify the purchase of the Boracay TC which is an expensive tent but cheaper than a van. So let’s get to the nitty gritty- the tent itself is a big lump packed up at around 30kg but I manage to handle it by myself with a bit of effort. The footprint is a must to protect the groundsheet (I had a mouse chew through my footprint but fortunately didn’t chew my tent). The air beams are really good and you can get the tent pitched in around 30 minutes including assessment of your pitch and cleaning any debris. I always battle with the eyebrow pole as it’s a tight fit. Takes another 90min or so to put all my kit in the tent, then I’m sorted. So what sets this apart from say a Kampa Brean3? In short it’s the atmosphere of technical cotton, the wall to wall stand up space for 6ft+ people and the huge really dark bedroom. The rear storage area is unique to any tent and you could put a porta potti in there if you need one. I have the canopy as well which is a good addition to free up some space in the living area and great to sit out when it’s raining and you have friends visiting. In short if you want the best one to two person tent and you’re going to use it for several weeks a year then buy this tent, the footprint and the canopy. You will have the ultimate camping experience if you kit it out with good gear too. I could bore you explaining what I have 😂

Q1: Does it have a sewn in ground sheet? (Useful for keeping my dogs from escaping!) Q2: Can you use a Vango AirBeam Turbo on this tent? Thanks!

I can confirm that the tent had a sewn in groundsheet and that you can also use the Vango Turbo Pump on the tent.

A vender selling this stated this tent was not waterproof. Is that true?

That is not true, the tent doesn’t have a waterproof rating because it is made from a Polycotton material but the tent is completely waterproof.
