I didn’t know about the leaking part. Thank you for pointing that out.

Started outfitting my little 5 X 10 squaredrop camper choosing to use the 10L/2.5 gal Scepter water cans rather than the 20L/5 gal for exactly the reasons you describe. I looked at several USB-charge power water faucets for their plumbing simplicity - pining for the Dometic Go but not wanting to spend the additional dollars. After looking at others' experience and looking again at the Dometic system, I made the plunge. Very happy. Buy once, cry once. I still use the Scepters for bulk storage but the Dometic 11L jug as the service supply. Win/win. Thanks for a great little vid!

The back pressure issue was 90% the reason I ended up with the dometic system. I rocked my own diy system with an Amazon faucet (I even had a magnet on it) for about a year, but eventually went with the dometic. The Dometic is stupid expensive, except on sale where it's an ok deal, doesn't have USBC, the magnet is kind of weak, and the hose is tiny. However, throwing on a longer hose and after using it for a bit I really do like it. I love the water containers with how easy they are to manage and swap out. The light is great, and the auto stop after 1 liter is handy. Just overall a good system. If someone finds an Amazon faucet without the dripping issue and usb-c, that would be the way to go (I would honestly still use the same water containers).

☝🏻This. I struggled with shelling out that kinda money for the Dometic stuff for like a year (ever since they showed them at expos last year). But I agree that if there's a more frugal faucet out there that doesn't leak with back pressure , I would have no issue spending less.

Where do I get your stickers? I already have the Dometic water jug and was considering this. Thanks for the recommendation!

I think you'll like the faucet. I mean, it's great for filling up water bottles and all but I just like tapping a button when I'm washing dishes or washing my hands instead of fiddling with a manual valve. 😄 Since you asked about stickers, I put them up on my store where I sell retrofit headlights at ggg4runner.com

I hate that the Dometic uses micro USB to charge. My transition to USB-C started 8 years ago, and today I have nothing that uses micro USB.

My guess is they got a deal on micro-usb ports 😆

I got one of the cheap ones first. The battery might be able to do 40 gallons but the pump can't. Stopped working within an hour. Returned to Amazon, got the Dometic one. Cost savings don't really matter if it stops working mid through a camp trip.

I've seen some cheap ones go for quite a long time but the leaking thing was the deal breaker for me. Glad you are enjoying your Dometic one!

Ty now ik gotta spend the big bucks and get the dometic. Unless one would disconnect the faucet when driving

I don't have any fear of it leaking but the built-in magnet isn't strong enough to hold it in place when offroad.

I was very reluctant to get this because the battery is not replaceable, and now I find out it is micro usb vs usbc input, but you made a far more convincing case than cs, who said, "This does not have a replaceable battery, as it uses a USB cord for 12V power." What about battery life? What if it is used infrequently? I bought two of the jugs because they look well made and well designed. Thanks for the review.

First, you are funny! 😂 Second… magnetic base plate mounted on domestic jug, square or round? Why? And placement? (I know..in the weeds/details). I am setting mine up today!
@ggg4runner4 ай бұрын
On mine I put the square base (no particular reason why the square one) in the corner next to the smaller screw cap (the one made for pouring and manual spigot). That way the faucet can rotate to either the narrow or wide side of the jug without having the water coming out obstructed by the jug itself. Also, the double-sided tape they included didn't last long for me and I had to use some 3M VHB tape but your mileage may vary.

This is the kind of product i really hate having a built in battery inside. The number of devices that have failed from limited seasonal use (looking at you Biolite Lantern). I know others seek it out. But I would have preferred this was USB C live powered, or rechargeable AA powered. I would much rather provide a USB source through cable or power bank.

I hate overpriced overlanding equipment. For example, I bought a 10ft x 10ft pop up canopy at Walmart yesterday for $50. They also sell one that has 2 elastic cables that attach to an suv. It is slightly smaller and uses less material to manufacture. However, because it attaches to a suv with bungee cables it is twice the price.
