Just FYI the maximum voltage of the battery you're talking about is 13.5 volts not 14.2 volts. 14.2 volts is the absorption charge voltage but that's not the actual voltage the cells will end up at. Once charging has completed or it goes into float it will be maintained at the maximum voltage of 13.5 volts. 13.32 volts at rest is approximately 92% charged with 13.4 to 13.6 volts being fully charged.

An interesting but invalid test. The AC is going to be cranking away full time. In real world application it should cycle on and off. Your air is all in the same space so you are just moving heat from one space and putting it back into the same space. I would be a LOT more impressed with this test if the unit was actually installed in a vehicle with the doors closed and windows rolled up...

Hello friend, *Is it normal that the battery warning kick on sometime? ( on a 400amp system) . * Is it the right way to wire straight to the battery with the 80amp oem fuse? Or connect it to vitron lynx distributor 1000 ? Thanks

Any idea on the BTU output on the RTX2000 when running in Eco mode (19 amp)? Dometic support referred me to you guys for this question 😀. We already have the 24v version for our truck cab (our truck doesn't have factory AC so we use this while driving) and are now looking to add the 12v version for the habitat, but the habitat will have to run off our 400amp LifePO4 battery bank so my interest in the Eco mode cooling output.

How does the power draw of the 12v system compare with a AC powered dometic when using a inverter … I think it will be comparable when it comes to wattage draw

@@NomadicInnovations Yep you were right. I saw over 1000W when the compressor was on and 350W approx with just the fan on my 11,000 BTU dometic Pen II. I was inverting 600Ah through my 3000 inverter

Seems that Lithium Battery systems like Goal Zero Yeti 1500X have their highest AMP rated output at 30 AMPs. Am I correct in concluding that if any AC unit or appliance where to attempt drawing more than 30 AMPs from a Yeti 1500x, the appliance will not function ie Domatic's Nomad 2000 that runs up to 72 AMPs at peak cooling? I just hooked mine up and it’s running off my battery bank. 4x100ahr battle born. But on the display, the little battery symbol is flashing. I’m troubleshooting with the manual but I don’t understand what this is flashing. Can anyone help explain to me?

It’s seems to me like you are trying to cool a huge area. In a van wouldn’t it cool down the van and then cycle in and out to maintain the temperature? I’m looking to put one of these in my camper trailer, it’s way smaller in volume than your shop.

How do you deal with the water the unit makes….where do you drain it to?

The condenser part of the unit is outside so it drains on the roof of the vehicle, you don't have to do anything x

You don't need an inverter, it runs off 12V directly. Assuming you can only discharge the AGM's about half way, then your capacity is roughly 200AH, so it should run about twice as long as his test using 100AH.

It's a bad test... should have put it in a sprinter and test it so when it hits the set temp to see how it holds the temp... that's more important.

It was simply a max compressor run time test. Which, on the average van/rv build, parked in the sun in summer, the compressor is never going to shut off.

Dometic over nomatic. Personal experience and experiences from others has shown me the dometic is more reliable. Plus half the price. It's a no Brainerd. Nomatic is for clueless yuppies.
