Thank you so much! This looks like exactly what has happened to one of my hatch blinds - only picked the 2nd hand motorhome up 2 days ago, and I broke it already! :-( even though I was being careful. I'll give this a try!

To remove the screen section from the hatch itself, I took out 4 screws, then gently pulled the section down to unclip from 2 friction points at each end.

Haha.. Wish I'd seen this first.. I noticed that despite having the same problem, the insect blind worked better than the light blind did so I went through the whole process of swapping both of their placements as I cared more about blocking light out, than insects... and in the end it didn't even make much difference... hehehe. I was gonna go all elaborate and superglue a piece of metal to lock the cord in, but I'll definitely try the screw first if I can get hold of a small one - afraid of weakening the plastic handle even more

Thanks very much. I needed to remove ours to inspect a possible leak. Whilst I had it off I decided to clean it thoroughly. I pulled everything apart in order to clean. I am now having trouble putting the cords back on correctly. I really should have taken a photo before I removed the cords. Is there any chance you remember how the cords are positioned to ensure correct operation?
