The gameplay of Mechwarrior 5 is split in two different parts. On the one hand you will have to manage your resources, hire new crew members, outfit your Mechs and travel through the Inner Sphere star map. But the action starts as soon as you get into the cockpit of your Battlemech yourself to fulfill contracts on the battlefield to earn more C-Bills and progress the story. I will review the weapon systems, battlemechs, show you how to build the loadouts and train your pilots and take a look at all the different mission types and upgrades of the MW5 Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC.

When a pilot is lost behind enemy lines, you can go into the barracks to check former pilots, and at the entry for the lost pilot you can choose to instead organize a rescue mission which spawns a rescue contract on that planet which, on top of all the regular rewards, also gives your pilot back. You might also keep an eye out for the urbie LAM. It doesn't have the fancy transformation of the locust LAM when flying, but it has a bunch of good quirks, and five extra tonnes to play with. It's the only non-hero light I keep into late-game, and much easier to keep alive than the locust as it doesn't come with (nor need) a big xl engine.

As others have mentioned, with the squad you have you SHOULD be in 8-10 rated missions. Can also punch above your weight. From here on out is where the power spike happens. Unless you drop into 12+ reputation rated missions, you can tackle most missions you want. On your next play though, I HIGHLY recommend you start much later. Well after the Clan invasion and around the Dark ages!!!! THIS is where from the early game, things will be tough. Most mechs will be heavily equipped. Even locusts, fleas, ravens, and many more will hit much harder than the pre-3050 era. Mediums, heavies and assaults as well.. 3500 is a fantastic place to start. You'll have some decent starting mechs that have endo, ferro, etc. Fun to see all the new tech you simply miss out on pre-3100 Happy new year Bara! Hope the next year brings new and exciting things for you to explore in the gaming world!

Bara, thank you for the content! I'm glad you spent time with your family; it's more important to take care of yourself. I enjoy how much you like playing so I do not want you to burn yourself out. As far as the Locust LAM; it makes the recon missions super easy! You just fly around and scan the targets and then you're done. And you can usually find the "hidden base" pretty quickly and send your lancemates to clean it out. Keep up the great work! Thanks a lot!

You should update coyotes missions. Having Aerospace is a lot of fun. Last time you exchanged a heatsink for the laser AMS ammo, I think. At least Fenrir can be replaced, the secondary mission to pick hum up can trigger again.

Too strong? Coyote missions and Clan Invasion mods have a way of humbling the overconfident mechwarrior in spectacular ways... just be careful. Insider tip: Royal JJs are getting nerfed next CI update. Along with a total jump jet rework. Royals will still be able to go in any mech size but you won't be able to hit low orbit anymore

LAM can print money in recon missions and raid missions. Negotiate only money and then rush the objectives taking zero damage. easy, easy cash.

You're powerful because of such low level missions. Your in a 2-3 recommended reputation area. Very low mission levels against what you have. So it's just the low level missions

The Urbanmech LAM is a bit easier to build, but it has a much higher upkeep than the Locust, so I'd hang onto it until you can get a different LAM. I think a single clan LB5-X is doable with an XL 100 + endo + Null Signature. Remove all but 1 of the LAMS thrusters, this will reduce your flight acceleration, but it's still fast and it saves tonnage and reduces the heat generated during flight. I'd also switch to single heat sinks to use slot space for weight saving with patchwork to squeeze in more ammo or a laser. Drifting and using the terrain to launch yourself upwards are important skills to practice with LAMS. They can punch way above their weight if you can stay in the air, whether it's high above or drifting near ground level. They're really good at getting behind the enemy and causing them to turn their backs to your lance. I've used an Urbanmech LAM in almost every mission type from 60-100 difficulty, always with a lance of 3 heavies, here's my opinion: -Elite for recon, convoy defense/attack, demolition, resource, and raid missions -Above average (if you command your lance properly) for attack and defend, patrol, garrison defense, beachhead defense, and targeted kill missions -Useable but unnecessary for duels, strongholds, fortress, battleground, and warzone missions -Difficult to unplayable on city and dense forest biomes The main reason you should keep the LAM is they're really fun to play when you find a good build and learn how to control them. Even if it gets blown up I keep bringing them back and am trying to build a second as a backup.

Bara, replace the RJJ's with a supercharger in all your mechs. Your lance mechs will do damage faster and take less damage. Makes missions go quicker and more smoothly.

the mech you need to kill or even worse collect simply might not spawn. But vehicles ALLWAYS spawn and sometimes in enough numbers that a single engagement may actually be enough to fullfill your cantina mission at once.@@torymiddlebrooks

Generally, Hero mechs will spawn in almost all industrial hubs. For the most part you want to stay towards the middle of the IS and check the industrial hubs around there. However you can also earn them via special missions.

the game is too easy? go to dark age and find a pirate orca on the battlefield! One is enough to destroy all your allies in a ground war and because it's not enough for you they always come in 2 or 3!! The first is there to transform your armor into a sieve, the second to finish the job
