A symmetric chord has 2 properties: 1. The distance between all notes is the same. 2. That distance evenly divides 12. So we have 4 kinds of symmetrical chords: 1. Diminished 2.Augmented 3.Tritone (2 note chord) 4. Whole note chord: 6 notes, each separated by a whole tone.
