Though Bach was a fluent performer of violin, viola, and many keyboard instruments, his primary instrument was the organ, and his reputation during his lifetime was based mostly on that part of his activity.

That guitar sound so thick it’s beautiful. Great insights, thank you for sharing. A trick I would give a younger me to help memorize is to look at the section you know less first and the ending it’ll be in your head in no time!

I really loved watching this, especially knowing for solo guitar gigs you don't have to do huge Ted Greene style arrangements to make it sound great. I'll be working on 2 and 3 note arrangements and trying to make simplicity sound powerful. I really appreciate you Adam, such a constant source of inspiration for taste, authenticity and patience.

Just a thought- hoe many free-time/free flowing songs would you think is too much for a solo set? as opposed to inputting arrangements with a constant groove throughout

One reason for the coil-splitter switch could be that this mod was really popular in the late seventies. I was in a high phase of guitar nerdery at that point, and I had a splitter installed on a Les Paul and a couple of other humbucker-equipped guitars because that’s what all the cool kids were doing. It makes sense, then, that Gibson might have offered a stock version to appeal to nerds like me. On another subject, Adam, I was in the audience for the session at the Fretboard Summit this past August that you and Rich Hinman did on accompanying a singer; you guys were fantastic, and I learned a lot. Thanks!
