Domine Deus meus - Salt Lake Vocal Artists

The Salt Lake Vocal Artists perform "Domine Deus meus" by Levente Gyöngyösi live in concert on February 21, 2014 in the Granada Theater, under the direction of Dr. Brady Allred. This concert was part of the Western Division conference of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) in Santa Barbara California at which the Salt Lake Vocal Artists were invited to perform.

Domine Deus meus, in te speravi,
Salvum me fac ex omnibus persequentibus me!
Ecce parturiit injustitiam,
Concepit dolorem et peperit iniquitatem.
Lacum aperuit, et effodit eum
et incidit in foveam quam fecit.
Exsurge, Domine, in ira tua!
exsurge, Domine Deus meus, in præcepto quod mandasti!
Consumetur nequitia peccatorum, et justum confirma!
Convertetur dolor ejus in caput ejus,
Et in verticem ipsius iniquitas ejus descendet.
Adiutorium, meum apud Deum,
Qui salvos decit rectos corde,
Deus iudex iustus, fortis.
Confitebur Domino secundum iustitiam eius,
Et psallam nomini Domini Altissimi. Amen.
English tranlsation:
O Lord my God, in Thee I put my trust;
Save me from all those who persecute me and deliver me;
Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity;
Yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood.
He made a pit and dug it out,
And has fallen into the ditch which he made.
Arise, O Lord, in Thine anger;
Rise up for me to the judgement Thou has commanded!
Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just;
His trouble shall return upon his own head,
And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.
Me defense is of God, who saves the upright in heart.
God is a just judge.

this group is brilliant.... if i was just a little crazier, id fly to wherever you all live/practice and make this my life. this song, though... without studying the music it makes almost no sense... theres no distinct melody.. .but after some score study? wow, this is a tour de force, maybe more so than 'leonardo' by whitacre. i cant imagine teaching this one. lol... just.. well done, bravo etc
